Can anyone who attended let us know if this is accurate?

$7000 to play soccer ?

Yes, you can pay $150-$200 to play neighborhood rec, $300-$400 to play challenge rec, $1200 to play competitive local travel, $2500 to play competitive Regional travel or up to $7000 to play competitive national/regional travel.

There is something for everyone.

This is a joke, right?

What you just wrote blatantly shows that the upper levels are only for kids who have parents with very deep pockets--definitely not everyone.

I've seen some great $75 Rec players (and players at our local pick up fields that aren't on any formal team) that have trouble getting rides to local practices and games with parents could never afford the price of travel and beyond.

Totally agree, $7000 a year for GDA would price out most families. I will fix the statement for him....

There is something for everyone with a trust fund

I wasn't aware if you couldn't play in DA you couldn't play soccer

^^no but you could be in the top 99.999% of us soccer players and not be able to afford programs or leagues for your ability.

If you are in the top 99.9999% a club will make sure you can play. Don't be obsurd.

If we are realistic here I think out of the girls programs who will offer top tier soccer next year it's pretty obvious who will have the least talented player pool ......

FCV
McLean
BRYC
VDA

I think one DA program will have success and one ECNL program will have success.

The last two posts crack me up. Seriously, just worry about your kid and your ridiculous personal ranking.

These kids aren't even showing up at tryouts for travel clubs, etc.

My husband pays the fees for two of the kids on his team. We end up having to pick them up for practices.

It's an elitist sport in this country. Admit it.

$7k for the top teams/leagues in the country. Travel costs to other states, hotels, etc.

Loudoun and FCV combining for DA would be a much stronger DA club. Plus BRYC and McLean have ECNL. I don't think it will be a possibility to get many players from those clubs.

I disagree with this. The lure of the DA attracts talent from far and wide. VDA is a viable option for kids from other top clubs because the TD and coaches are fantastic. Just look at the scores from fall and see how VDA fared against the other DAs. And of course, results aren't the end-all, the training is. I've watched several VDA sessions because they train at the same facility where one of my kids trains and the sessions are amazing. The word is out and top coaching will always attract top talent.

You stated that the sessions are amazing. Can you elaborate? What do they do differently? better? and what sessions are you comparing these sessions to? Thanks

Technical ability and pure speed of play is the difference when you watch a DA or ECNL level practice.

And when you watch DA and a European Academy...you see the great difference again. The latter having much greater speed and technical ability.
