The talent ID is now. ECNL finals are next week. |

Just like usual ECNL hats dont know how to post responses. |
So this argument is in some ways pointless…what is happening here is the same thing that happened in basketball decades ago….the shoe companies are now involved, Nike-ECNL, and Adidas-GA. Look behind the curtain and that is likely what is driving this to a large extent. It is just early in the process but in the coming years you will see Nike vs. Adidas where kids are “guided” to certain schools based on shoe company preferences. This is/will be the path moving forward and will start on the girls side of things initially. Time takes time but this is likely the end result. |
Decades ago, people in the USA cared about basketball on both the college and pro levels. There was a lot of money there even "decades ago" There is no money in American soccer. And comparing college soccer to college basketball is laughable as well. We've been waiting since 1994 for American soccer culture to hold its own vs other sports. It never happened. And it's not happening now. Get your head out of the sand |
You mean something like this... ![]() https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Adidas_Cup Its already happening on the boys side. |
Come on you have to admit we're in a better place than 1994 - It might still be niche, but you can ACTUALLY WATCH top level teams all over the world easily. Those fans passionate about soccer are very passionate, even if it's a small group. Funny thing is that every single sport has massively declining tv ratings (other than the NFL) because we're not one big monoculture anymore. Plenty of $$$ in the sport as well, even if it's all being siphoned out at the youth level ![]() |
Women's soccer used to never be on the TV now I see it all the time. MLS is stagnant but consistant. What's missing is all the crazy club drama and out of this world player paychecks you get in a true Academy style league where the clubs are all their own entities vs MLS franchises. Its like going to a party and the only thing to drink is bud light. Sure things will get crazy now and then. But, it's nothing compared to a party with a full open bar. |
The last sentence reminds me of the old Stacey King joke when he told a reporter the he and Jordan combined for 70 points in the game.............Jordan had 64 and Stacey had 6. |
The most hypocritical thing I have seen from Imyouthsoccer guy is "polling" where to put the recruiting numbers for those ECNL teams that moved to GA, in ECNL or GA. The response was ECNL because that is where they were developed.
Until someone asked where they put the Nationals numbers and he said ECNL but that was different. He is clearly a shill of the highest order. At one point I thought I knew who it was (hint: Chicago based ECNL parent) but dont have enough evidence to truly support that. |
man, you are really bitter. your daughter must not have made ECNL or RL. |
I noticed this as well. He puts up stats about youth clubs with players playing D1 soccer. But, while the club might be in XYZ league now back when the college player was on one of their teams it was in ABC league. Its deliberately done to favor ECNL. Unfortunately the youngers parents that haven't been around for a while arent able to see through the BS. |
Please - the same holds true of MLs Next and GA- they have their patsy’s all over social media trying to position things. Stating opinions as facts and hearing toward GA (and MLs Next) as the next coming of Christ. |
MLSNext and GA are about the players! ECNL is only about money! |
Ahh yes, the good old: When they expose your lies, shift to saying the other side does it too as your new argument. WhatAboutism 101. Well played. |
