Decades ago, people in the USA cared about basketball on both the college and pro levels.  There was a lot of money there even "decades ago"

There is no money in American soccer.  And comparing college soccer to college basketball is laughable as well.

We've been waiting since 1994 for American soccer culture to hold its own vs other sports.   It never happened.  And it's not happening now.

Come on you have to admit we're in a better place than 1994 - It might still be niche, but you can ACTUALLY WATCH top level teams all over the world easily. Those fans passionate about soccer are very passionate, even if it's a small group. Funny thing is that every single sport has massively declining tv ratings (other than the NFL) because we're not one big monoculture anymore.

Plenty of $$$ in the sport as well, even if it's all being siphoned out at the youth level :)[/quote]
