Southern part of Hunt Valley ES was rezoned from WSHS to Lee in the mid-1980s creating a split feeder at Irving. Area was moved back to WSHS after South County HS opened. |
Now I understand that lemon drop. |
| Meren just walked back her remarks in a Facebook post. |
What a little turd. |
WSHS also has much, much tighter boundaries than Langley. Most of the zoned houses are 2.5 miles from WSHS on local roads, with a good third easily walkable to the high school and almost the entire school zone a 10 minute drive away at a speed of less than 35mph with zero highway driving or major road driving to get to WSHS. |
Ancient history at this point, compared to the years of neglect of Lee/Lewis that followed. |
Lewis would have around 1800 students if FCPS ditched IB and made it an AP school, and put AAP at Key, so Lewis wasn't losing 300 students per year for pupil placement. For the size of the Lewis building,1800 students wouldbe a fairly full school. |
Yes, ancient history, so the rezone WSHS posters need to stop using the small amount of time HV was zoned for Lewis 30-40 years ago as a slight to Lewis. |

I honestly feel like the school board is antagonizing us by proposing options that make things worse and not better.
They have the ability to balance enrollment, but they are exacerbating an already horrific situation. I am appalled to be an FCPS mommy. |

Here is Meren's FB post...Honestly, this whole thing is and has always been a complete sh*t show....
Hello Community Members: I’ve become aware that I was incorrect in the recommendation I shared in my newsletter, below, sent on December 18, regarding Fox Mill Elementary School. I apologize for my error and offer here correction and clarification. In short: I am not recommending anything new from what has been proposed and circulated in the scenarios. I see now that I confused advocacy regarding the Fox Mill Woods community to be the overarching advocacy regarding Fox Mill Elementary School. I’d further like to share the input I’ve received and considered for this geographical area, from different neighborhoods in our community: I have indeed heard residents request to keep Fox Mill Elementary School in the South Lakes pyramid, as I stated below. My goal in my communication below was to reinforce that I support Fox Mill ES remaining in the South Lakes pyramid as it currently is. If new boundaries are proposed that suggest that Fox Mill ES students go to the Western HS, I will carefully consider the recommendation and community input at that time, in the first part of 2026. I’ve heard from the Fox Mill Woods community, which is in the Crossfield Elementary boundary. Parents here ask to keep as-is their Crossfield students already assigned to Langston Hughes MS and South Lakes HS, as per the current scenario. I believe this is where I erred in my newsletter communication, suggesting the Fox Mill Elementary School assignment into Langston. Again, I do apologize for that mistake. I hope this helps alleviate confusion and concern. Thank you for your grace. Wishing you a peaceful winter school break and holiday season. Melanie. |
| This is such a mess. Meren tries to pay more attention than most, and she can't keep up and ends up confusing people. Most of the rest of them have no clue. They just want to give Reid a blank check and Reid doesn't have the slightest idea what she's doing when it comes to boundaries. |
|
At least Meren tries. Sandy Anderson is actively trolling her constituents. From tonight’s newsletter:
“ Finally, the Superintendent’s recommendations for the Comprehensive School Boundary Review will be presented to the Board at the January 8 Regular Meeting, followed by a public hearing on Saturday, January 10, 2026. I encourage you to visit the FCPS website for details on how to sign up to speak and to review the information that has already been shared about the boundary review process.” The link she shared provided no info on how to sign up to speak at that meeting. |
Lewis design capacity over 2100. |
+1M. She also gaslighted her constituents in that newsletter by saying the no transportation is all Reid's idea (when Sandy has been pushing it from day one). Then last night, when she realized she would not have enough votes to pass the no transportation motion (especially since Rachna can't vote anymore), she passed around a note and told her SB supporters to just abstain from the vote so they can pass it when Dixit comes back. I'm honestly not sure who the students and families she claims to care about Actually are, because she seems to actually dislike her constituents. I'm not even in a neighborhood that was ever proposed to move, yet I've been following closely and upset by her incompetence. |
Does Michelle have any idea what she’s doing when it comes to anything? The school board dances around them with their manipulative and grifter ways that nothing gets done. Unless Michelle is the master manipulator and gets her way in getting a security detail or a fat salary. |
