Largest club ever! Period |
When do you expect the partnership to be made public? Spirit have already been having ID sessions for their DA, and this news would really change landscape. |
Likely when there is a partnership to actually announce. The clubs are perhaps just dating and they are not ready to change their Facebook status to "In a relationship" just yet. If true there are a lot of details to work out regarding structure. Personally I see a Loudoun/FCV merger working about as well as a super group like "Damn Yankees" did. Sure, you'll get a top 40 hit but in the long run there are to many egos to make it sustainable |
Then it would go just about as well as any of the other FCV partnerships in recent history ... when will these clubs learn. I do think they would want to announce something before Spirit gets too far into getting commitments and collecting money for next year. |
VDA or BRYC. DA or ECNL.
Can anyone give some advice |
Depends upon the age of your player. |
I think Spirit likely know what is and isn't falling apart. |
She is an 03 playing 02 currently but will go to own age for the fall 2017 season. |
Has anyone gone to one of the Spirit ID clinics yet? Someone on another website reported rather dismal numbers at the clinic this weekend. Also said the cost would be about $7000. (VDA says it will charge ~$2500 plus travel costs).
Can anyone who attended let us know if this is accurate? |
Does anyone know if Alexandria has any spots on teams for this Spring? If so, please advise the age group. Thanks!! |
I think Spirit are being pretty upfront and honest regarding the cost. $2500 for training is pretty standard but the travel is where it adds up. The older age groups travel more so I would put $7000 as the top end though but you should expect to pay between 5-7k regardless where you end up. |
^^, PP here, I am interested in boys spots above the U11 level in travel due to my kids birthdays. |
03's and 04's are in the worst spot for all of this. Sorry for your loss ![]() For me it would depend upon where you are now and where the best coaching would be where you went. BRYC will be new to ECNL so that could be a cluster f organizational wise or they cold transfer in rather smoothly, who the hell knows. VDA will be more organized from the get go as they have been preparing for this for some time. They likely have their player pools mostly set at this point save for likely 4 spots or so per age group. I think for the next two years at least both leagues will be viable options but DA will eventually emerge. |
