The Rush to Judge Ilhan Omar

anti-Semitism should not be used as a weapon, and you should not be over eager to play victim

The issue is how she raises them. Try to focus.

And? What's "fun" about that?

The same country that gave her father certain freedom and her citizenship is clearly a tolerant society and loves everyone. Too bad she doesn't.

That's a huge spin on her statement and a lie.

Tolerance of all is not a spin, rather the bedrock of our Constitutional Republic. She has a safe district due to her tribal roots, yet is naive and young with a loose tongue.

She's not intolerant of anyone. Can't say the same about you.

After MM's false outrage over 'anti-semitism', a jewish cartoonist from NY completely destroys her by drawing this:

Don’t judge her guys, she “has a different experience in the use or words”

As a minority, I only wish my people were as effective as Jewish supporters of Israel.

I feel that as soon as my people get money in the US, they try to forget everything about their homeland.

It's sad.

Jewish solidarity, political and economic engagement, intelligence - are all amazing characteristics that other ethnicities need to learn from.

No, it has become a personal vendetta

She doesn’t mind. She has said that people should get used to it and is pleased her comments have started conversations.

I used to say my younger brother got away with murder, and didn't intend it to mean he was a murderer, as in, killed people

OOOOOOH!!!! Another double standard for Democrats! Gotcha!

How about this: STFU about Trump ACTUALLY meaning he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and [his] sic supporters would still support him when you pull this Alt-Vocabulary out of your a**.
Why is everything about Trump? We're trying to discuss Ilhan Omar, here, not the cheeto

Not the PP you're responding to and have been away from this thread for a while but I would point out that the cheeto is actually relevant to bring into this conversation for context and comparables because the shit he says on a regular basis is far more offensive than what Ilhan Omar said.

Whataboutism, ergo, irrelevant. Next.

Perhaps that is a good thing

No, it points out the double standards and hypocrisy of jumping all over Ilhan Omar, demanding her resignation et cetera while Trump is allowed to do even worse. If you aren't doing anything about Trump then I'm not particularly interested in hearing you whine and demanding action about Omar.

NP. This is the big flaw in cries of “whataboutism.” Comparisons are often instructive and help keep us honest. Charges of whataboutism are deployed selectively to cover a preferred team’s sins

Save your argument for double standards for a Judge.

Further justification for broadening the anti-hate resolution was just provided by Fox New's Jeanine Pirro who suggest during her Fox News show that Ilhan Omar's choice to wear a "heejaab" (as Pirro called it) indicates an attachment to her religion that is incompatible with the US constitution. Pirro's Islamophobic attack on Omar is the type of thing that would get you banned from TV if you said it about other religions, but probably will just increase her ratings on Fox.

Do you believe that Sharia Law is compatible with our Constitution?

I believe that you are too uniformed about Sharia to make a substantive discussion possible and the question itself is Islamophobic.
