GC's last scrimmage today
St Paul's 9 GC 7 |
This actually isn't surprising, and I say that with no disrespect to SR. Maryvale is #2 in the country on Inside Lacrosse's rankings. They have 19 D1 commits on the roster--including the #1 ranked player in the 2026 class, according to Inside Lacrosse--and 2 D3 commits. They have 3 senior commits that didn't even make Varsity. Their '28s include a girl ranked in the top 5 in the class by Prep Girls lacrosse, and 2 others that are clearly top 75. They have a '29 on the USA u15 National team. Only St. Anthonys is even in the conversation as close to being this stacked. SR is good. One of the top 3 teams in the DC area. They have 7 D1 commits, to great programs, and the #26 ranked player in the 2027 class. One D3 Commit and some 2028s and 2029s from good clubs. Impressive and probably enough to finish the season in the top 25 nationally. But just not on the same level as Maryvale. Maryvale could create two full rosters that would beat Stone Ridge. |
| I'm no SR fanboy, but do you realize how good the Maryvale team is? There are 21 Division I commits on that roster, not even counting the strong 2029 and 2028 classes, which also have top players. This team is playing at a much higher level compared to local teams, so no one should be surprised by the beatdown. |
Do these video recordings get posted somewhere? Would be interesting to watch this game. |
I don’t believe they were resting players. SR will not be a top 25 team when the season is over. |
| Regardless of how good MV is, 13-0 is still surprising and I'm not a SR fan. Also, can we please not lend credibility to "Prep Girls Lacrosse"? |
SR has one good 27 and a couple good 26’s. This is not surprising at all. |
They will beat up on McDonogh tomorrow |

| that’s a Goalie issue too |
| Seems like Saints is now the favorite in the ISL with their 18 college recruits. |
There’s a strong case for this after today |
They may beat up on McDonough but they should lose |
Saints will peak in late March - early April, as is typical, and find a way to get beat again in ISL and Virginia state playoffs. |
I don’t think in this particular case. A Coaching issue, Yes! MV much more prepared and the sophistication of offense and defense was notable as compared to SR. |
