Scrimmage or not, SR loses big to Maryvale 14-3 today.
I don’t know how someone could confirm this but this score doesn’t seem possible.
Game was live-streamed - was 13 - 0 going into 4th quarter. Whether or not SR is as good as they once were, felt game would be a little closer. Any chance they were resting some players?
This actually isn't surprising, and I say that with no disrespect to SR. Maryvale is #2 in the country on Inside Lacrosse's rankings. They have 19 D1 commits on the roster--including the #1 ranked player in the 2026 class, according to Inside Lacrosse--and 2 D3 commits. They have 3 senior commits that didn't even make Varsity. Their '28s include a girl ranked in the top 5 in the class by Prep Girls lacrosse, and 2 others that are clearly top 75. They have a '29 on the USA u15 National team. Only St. Anthonys is even in the conversation as close to being this stacked. SR is good. One of the top 3 teams in the DC area. They have 7 D1 commits, to great programs, and the #26 ranked player in the 2027 class. One D3 Commit and some 2028s and 2029s from good clubs. Impressive and probably enough to finish the season in the top 25 nationally. But just not on the same level as Maryvale. Maryvale could create two full rosters that would beat Stone Ridge.
