Holton has a few really great players and were able to put up a fight against a deeper Potomac team. Both teams played hard and the stronger team won.

What are they? Their academics are a joke!

Interesting comment. SR has commits going to Yale, Harvard, Princeton and Dartmouth. 3 players at Notre Dame. 1 at UVA and 1 committed there as well. Another one at Amherst. Some pretty good schools.

Exactly. Non athletes are not getting into those schools from Stone Ridge. They get in from NCS, Holton, Potomac. Nice try!

There is literally a non-athlete freshman at Harvard this year, lots at ND and admitted this year (non athletes) and plenty at UVA. Non-athlete to Princeton last few years, and Dartmouth. Don’t think Amherst tends to be a popular pick from SR. As with the national trend, a lot of top kids are focused on other non ivy schools now also.

A girl can take a very rigorous class load there and - maybe you aren’t at the college stage yet - but lots of other factors go in. The top 1/3 of the class is pretty academic. But agree NCS and maybe Holton (but less so than used to be honestly) are overall more academic.

But the school likes those high academic athlete recruits, even though those kids are not the top students, to have associated with the school and lacrosse program. If school thinks families are coming to the school for the coach they’re not going to do anything. Even if for many who choose to attend, there is a bait and switch - on the lacrosse front. Most other sports are fun and normal there and some talented players have simply walked away from lacrosse based on coach’s behavior and principle. Others hung on kindof delusional that it would help them in recruiting, which wasn’t going to happen anyway or because they think it is somehow a badge of honor to be part of the team and never see the field. Don’t get it but to each their own.

Especially if you’re 11 goals ahead, that’s time to take out the starters and let the other girls work to learn. Why would parents keep sending their kids to these schools if they are aware of the culture top down? Doesn’t seem like a great hs experience

Name another top AA ISL team starting 4 freshman. That’s the growth formula: prepping and growing young talent not handing out some fake charity playing time.

No she doesn’t put that much thought or effort into her coaching. The freshman start just because they are better than the upperclassmen. They are not coached by her one bit.

Or because some were loyal to her M&D DC venture. Will be interesting to see how that turns out come recruiting time!

NCS and Holton have equal matriculation(honestly)

+1. M&D DC kids clearly getting preferential treatment.

Oh 100% this. And she’s not the only coach like this at SR.
