You think American swing voters will send not one, but two women to the White House?

Bottle that starry-eyed optimism and sell it.

That’s not even a woman problem. An American swing voter isn’t sending a CA/NY ticket to the White House.

I don’t think they’re sending a CA WOC at the top of the ticket to the White House no matter who the VP pick is, but I’m cynical after the last eight years.

Kelly’s military background is great, but he’s also perceived as anti-gun (with good reason!), which could counteract his appeal among those most impressed by his military service.

Cooper is too old.

Kelly is not anti-gun. He owns a gun and is former military. Believing in gun control measures is not anti-gun.

I agree, but Trumpers tend to see any efforts at gun control as anti-gun.

There are quite a few good options. Somewhere along the way, the Democratic bench became pretty deep. So many good governors.

But I think it's going to be Kelly. His bio - fighter pilot, astronaut, war hero, popular senator from the Southwest, husband of Gabbie Giffords - is kryptonite for Trump and Vance. Kelly emasculates them. And that is a powerful weapon for Democrats to wield

The far-right Trumpers, yes....but you won't be able to get those votes no matter what. However, there are those voting for Trump on other issues, such as immigration, that just might swing to vote Dem if Kelly is the VP - Kelly is a moderate and supports immigration policies that are more moderate/right-leaning, for example.

"In the past, Kelly has criticized President Joe Biden over his policies on immigration, specifically ending Title 42, which allowed the U.S. to turn away asylum seekers during the pandemic."

How charismatic are any of these candidates? Honest question as I’ve never heard any of them speak. Are they skilled debaters?

I like Kelly a lot, but will he create excitement that will draw people to the polls? I wonder if Bashear will be more.effective.

I also worry about using that senate seat.

I wonder about this too. So much of any election is about intangibles. Which of these candidates is most likely to generate genuine excitement? We’re not just picking a VP for now—this is also about grooming a future presidential candidate.

Have you not heard Kamala this week? Protecting and expanding abortion rights is one of her main talking points. No way would she ever pick a pro life VP. Crazy.
