It's just mean-spirited grandstanding, and I'm sure we'll see more of it from a different angle of attack in the next few weeks or months.

As an academic I think it's pretty egregious if you're lifting from Wikipedia for your dissertation, unless your dissertation is on crowd-sourced information.

There’s a sentiment among certain quarters of Jewish academia that “Asians are taking over” at the expense of smart Jewish students. I’ve heard it first hand from professors who mistakenly think they found a sympathetic ear (I’m an upper income white male).

The whole bruhaha about black or Hispanic students getting undeserving spots is a red herring; they are already minuscule in elite T20. It’s really about getting rid of Asian students to make way for more rich Jewish and WASP legacy kids who have every conceivable advantage in life.

How exactly have the Jews whining about DEI gone after Asians in any way? If anything, Jews and Asians teamed up and expressly targeted Black and Hispanic people to end affirmative action. It will be interesting to see if Jews go after Asians because Asians have no friends left among minorities and white people care about Asians only to the degree they can be used. Her thesis advisor - who died the same month he approved her plagiarized thesis - was good friends with Neri’s mother and they published together. He founded the MIT Media Lab and basically set Neri up with admission and funding. Massive conflict of interest.

From there, she skipped the post-doc and became a tenured professor at MIT in 2017 (basically unheard of). It seems like she had a legion of graduate students working for her and putting her name on 70+ published articles.
