Alec Baldwin now charged with involuntary manslaughter by New Mexico authorities

Anonymous
This is a Kafka sort of thing where the trial process was the punishment; it was the end rather than the means of justice. Like Josef K in the Kafka novel, Alec is doomed to a permanent state of attempting to seek vindication from an invisible and unreachable judge, til he lays down and takes it. Like a dog.

Therefore nobody is to blame. The gun shot itself. He refuses to admit he pulled the trigger… therefore he is lying about the basics and for that reason should be put in jail.
Halls claims he didn't say "cold gun" before handing it to Baldwin. He's lying and, according to your reasoning, he should go to jail.
Baldwin is on trial and he is going to lie. He has to since he made up a story that he didn’t pull the trigger.
Still doesn't make him guilty. Cold gun is a gun empty of ammunition. He could have pulled the trigger a million times without any danger had Halls and the armorer done their jobs.
The way I see it, Baldwin was the top guy on the set. He would be the first to tell you he was top guy, lol. Therefore, he's 100% responsible for anything and everything that happens on his set. He allowed the guns to be used for target practice. Employees walked off the set due to safety concerns. Think about that. It's thrilling and prestigious to be working on a movie set, and with a big name celebrity like AB. And yet, people were concerned enough they wanted no part of THIS set, and they walked off.

The minute someone gets killed with one of the guns used for target practice, all of a sudden it's the armorer's fault. Yeah, sure, like she had the authority to prevent people from grabbing the guns, using them for target practice, and then sneaking them back on the "cold" table. The fault lies with whomever pulled this stunt, but I'm suspecting that individual doesn't have the guts to step forward. The ultimate fault lies with Baldwin for allowing the guns to be used for target practice.

He's a coward. He's going to let someone else take the fall.
The director is the top guy on the set. The director was in front of the gun and was shot. The ultimate fault lies with him.
You mean HER. The director gave Baldwin the instruction to point the gun at her.
The director is a HIM and was also shot.
Why was he not held accountable then?
Because you don't know his name. Not enough buzz.
And that’s why Baldwin will not be convicted.
He won't be convicted because it was a tragic accident.
No, it’s because he’s a rich lib.
Deadly car crashes are also tragic.
No, it was an accident and he didn’t know there was a chance of that gun being loaded.
Well, that's something most of us learned as a children. So sad that he did not know that checking is important. We were also told to never poinr a gun at anyone.

Regardless, the worst punishment for Alec is knowing deep down in his core that he killed a young woman.

Unfortunately we all saw how quickly he switched to distancing and denying. This will not sit with him. He has already moved on from it, the ongoing charges were more of a bother to him than anything, I think.

I feel bad for Hutchins' husband and son.

That won't bother a narcissist.

Maybe Alec feels it, but his public appearances and statements following her death were callous and completely in the interest of protecting himself.

I'm sure he felt extraordinarily awful in the moment, and for weeks and months afterwards. All but the most mentally disturbed of us would feel like the scum of the earth in such circumstances. But he's also wealthy and famous, and highly cancel-able, and since such people are natural targets of public backlash and lawsuits, they are used to spinning. He and his PR team did their best to wiggle out of public opprobrium, and out of a court case, by insisting on the weaknesses of the case. In the end, it's natural human behavior to rationalize to yourself that you are not a murderer, because someone else is at fault (in this case, the armorer). I am certain that now he believes that, to protect his own sanity and manage his life going forward. It would be nice if he could offer sizeable compensation to the family.

Make no mistake, the case has obvious weaknesses, notably that the armorer checks weapons. It was entirely expected that charges would be dismissed.
She needs to go to jail. She had one job to do.

Also reasonable.

It’s ironic that a guy who has so often voiced his hatred of the NRA and guns is now charged with shooting more people than 99.999999% of NRA members.

How rich is this?

It’s tragic that people died from the accidental shooting but the DA should have never brought this case. This always felt like attention seeking behavior by her.

Can an actor even inspect the bullets and tell if they are blanks?
