MD A parent chiming in...if your daughter is good enough, there will always be a spot. MnD and SW have tryouts into HS. Hero's tends to stop open tryouts as you enter HS.

MD parent here as well and agree. If you are a stud there’s room. The oldest year for Hero’s tryouts this summer are the 28s. If you are the best player on a lower level A or high B team it can’t hurt to tryout.

I can’t say with certainty, but why would the best Stars and/or Pride players leave? Just gut it out one more yeR before Capital.

Exactly right. If you are a stud you probably feel good about your chances making Capital. Moving to a MD club team at this point would be counterproductive. All bets are off if you have a disruptive parent, of course.

Stars and Pride players should make a solid Capital team.

I don’t understand why people are acting like the Pride girls are going to combine with Stars to go to Capital. There may be a couple, but the vast majority will stay with pride. Capital pulls from multiple clubs. They will get quite a few from Next Level. But I wouldn’t put your money on many Pride girls moving to Capital

And no, I’m not a Pride parent either

I had always heard that the top Pride girls went to Capital. I know some 2026’s did. I just think at 2028, the clear talent is with Stars and Pride thus I thought they’d be the clear feeders.

For the 25's and 26's the top Pride girls have gone to Capital to the tune of 10+ girls per team. the main reason is recruiting to which Capital is the best and some people are probably looking for a change. The 27's might be different given the BLC is so strong, but until Pride improves their recruiting it is doubtful that the top Pride players will stay. There is a new Pride recruiting director so let's see what she will do with the 25's to try to reverse this trend.

I think this year will tell us a lot about how things will go next year. The 27s is going to be interesting. Last year they had about 150 girls try out for 44 spots

Out of that 150 though, I can't imagine there's more than 60-70 that really should be at the tryouts

If that many. The reality is for the blue team through clinics, private lessons and word of mouth CLC has a pretty good idea of who they want for about 80% of the roster spots before the tryouts even begin. The remaining 135 girls are basically chasing 27 slots.

I would say that is accurate. Capital is always at the younger age groups Tournament watching. Stars has one of the Capital coaches coaching the v 28 team to see what have

I know Capital coaches help at Stats and BLC for the 27 age group. Do they have any other coaches helping at the 28 age group other than Stars?

Maybe you can send an email out to the kids you think are tryout worthy?

Sorry your kid won't be on the list.

Totally agree! He’ll probably stay on VLC.

He? You do realize this is about girls right?

This is also a 2028 thread. My 7th grader will not be trying out for the loud mouth clown who thinks he knows everything or Capital until next year.

But I’m sure anonymous clowns who have no idea who me or my daughter is will post that she won’t make it. That will crush me 😢

Sounds like your kid is on Stars now.... so the obvious question is, why would you stay if you're unhappy with the coaching?

No one cares who you or what team your kid plays for.

Initial thoughts on AS roster??
Anonymous
Somewhat surprised that 2 NL players made the team. Otherwise, predictable roster.

Looks like NL best player didn’t try out along with other top players in the area.

I would’ve assumed she was the middie who made the team? Oh well.

What other “top” players didn’t try out? Curious
Anonymous
Yeah - I’m curious about that too. Looks like Pride and Stars are well represented (that, to me, represents the too talent of the DMV). Is there a club or player I am missing?
Anonymous
Sorry to be late to the party, but how does AS differ from AU Futures?
