It's on the COVID dashboard. |
Just for fun I’m going to put my tin hat on and say they don’t want to update the website until after the mask mandate addendum gets voted on. |
I know. I hate sounding like a crazy person, but I had the same thought. Right after they vote, the calculation will refresh and show something like 49.8 or something just under 50 |

Breaking news:
The Montgomery County Council, acting as the Board of Health, voted Tuesday to amend the indoor mask mandate regulation. Now, the county must see seven straight days of "substantial transmission" versus one day. https://bethesdamagazine.com/bethesda-beat/government/indoor-mask-mandate-to-kick-in-after-7-days-of-substantial-transmission/ |
Pathetic but not surprising. |
What’s even more pathetic is that they decided to ignore the first day of substantial transmission so the seven-day clock didn’t start until Saturday. I don’t know why they’re so desperate to get rid of the mask mandate now. They did much dumber and more costly things earlier in the pandemic but held onto those for a much longer time. |

Great work by Friedson to push that 85% vaccination goal to end the mask mandate.
If I'm reading the CDC data right (https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view), we're already at 77.5% now and basically just need some kids to get their second shots. |
Great news! And cool that they showed they can learn from previous mistakes and not double down. (I wasn’t going back to wearing a mask regardless, but at least now there’s no chance of a confrontation) |
| I'm sort of done. I think they've burned all of their credibility. Our numbers are the same as Howard county which hasn't had a mask mandate since spring. They're pulling numbers out of thin air and have moved the goalposts three times at this point. MoCo pols love to control, control, control. |
Selfish. We are having good numbers because of masking. |
I guess we’ll find out who’s right in a few weeks. In the meantime, there’s no denying Friedson played games with numbers to get his way. He does this with development too. |
We are having good numbers because of vaccinations. No way to research this, but I think people's irrational confidence in masking hurts with distancing, which is significantly more important than masking. |
| Transmission happened while we were masked. Hopefully, they saw that masks make no difference. |
What’s stupid comment. We elect officials TO control the public. What the hell else the point of having a government, dummy? We vote for people who will be in authority, to protect us from dumbasses who go around blathering about “muh freedumbs”. Control? Control is the REASON we put people in charge. |
Some of us are capable of assessing risks and making our own decisions (which included getting vaccinated with a booster). Sorry you need a daddy to tell you what to do. |
