What’s going on with the two bills?

Truly bipartisan. The progressives could learn something about working across the aisle with bills that actually will pass and aren't just a kitchen sink wishlist. See if they even get 1 vote from the Republicans from their social welfare bill.

The 200 Republicans who voted against it could learn something also, except they have worms where their brains should be.

The progressives fully supported the bill. It was just "the squad' that lobbed a protest vote. Rep. Jaypal showed pragmatism and leadership through this entire process and should be commended. The issue here were the moderate/conservative democrats. Had they made the same deal 6 weeks ago, both bills would have been done by now.

The progressives had held up the Infrastructure vote since July. Because of Jayapal's influence we lost Virginia - the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, the Attorney General, and the House of Delegates.

There is zero proof that passing these bills in July would have mattered. The VA race was lost because T-Mac ran a piss poor campaign, his hubris and his & VA Dems refused to deal with the dog whistles of CRT/parents whites until it had ceded too much ground.

Oh yeah okay. I'm sure you believe that. Seasoned members of Congress who have been winning races longer than you've been alive did not. Hence the forced vote.

Thank you, Brandon!

GOP who voted against this bill are calling it wasteful spending. These are the same jokers complaining about the US Ports and supply chain issues. Gee, maybe some of this money can be used to expand the capacity at the ports?

And how many of these voting against, will not hesitate to show up at ribbon cutting ceremonies in their home districts?

And now, the rule for the reconciliation bill passes the House.

Look for it to pass in full before Thanksgiving.

Well done, Dems!

According to the GOP, this bill is communism.

Was the interstate highway system, sponsored by President Eisenhower, a communist plot?

LOL if you think the House and Senate is going to pass that bill this month or ever - you're dreaming. Senate and House are in recess for weeks, they've got the federal shutdown, debt ceiling and highway spending deadline to deal with by Dec. 3rd thanks to the progressives.

Yeah, Pelosi’s comms director tweeted “See you at the ribbon cuttings” at Kevin Brady’s nonsense response.

Please provide why some Democrats voted against?
