The progressives fully supported the bill. It was just "the squad' that lobbed a protest vote. Rep. Jaypal showed pragmatism and leadership through this entire process and should be commended. The issue here were the moderate/conservative democrats. Had they made the same deal 6 weeks ago, both bills would have been done by now.[/quote]

There is zero proof that passing these bills in July would have mattered. The VA race was lost because T-Mac ran a piss poor campaign, his hubris and his & VA Dems refused to deal with the dog whistles of CRT/parents whites until it had ceded too much ground. [/quote]
