Hayfield Football Coach Fired

I find it amazing that a group of football coaches have taken down the county. Good for them!!

No good coach would think this. Good coaches beat good teams. Overton did not do this once this season. Good coaches teach their players things like good sportsmanship etc. Overton has never once done this. Good coaches don't cheat. Overton has made a career out of cheating.

He scheduled a Private school this year, NO other coach in this area would do that

He scheduled powerhouse Varina, no FCPS school would do that, so pls spare me

He only has 2 decent teams, he crushed somewhat decent WSHS and lost to RB. So as far as the ntll district is concerned, it’s very weak and that’s why for years Hayfield was playing on borrowed time because beating up on teams in that district really would nvr prepare you for good playoff type teams

For the record, Bishop Ireton played Annandale this year. I get your point, but whatever.

Perhaps instead of routing the National district, Hayfield should have done what TJ did this season with regard to scheduling?

Received an exemption to play small rural and DC Charter schools.

Oh Thomas Jefferson is the epitome of just fielding a team for sport. Football should not be on their available sports activities to play. Undersized undermanned and coaches that are only there for a paycheck.

TJ football is literally what high school sports SHOULD be, comprised of their own students and far less important than academics.

Yes, literally the entire point. You don’t “bring in” talent in HS sports. The school team represents those who live in the district or zone for that school. There is no recruiting in HS sports and that’s clearly what he was doing. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Maybe because this is nova public HS football, not Texas, and playing teams from Hyattsville and Henrico isn’t what it should be about?
