Would the decision had been different if case had been filed in CA? I am not close to this but I thought the court ruled she wasn’t an employee so couldn’t sue for sexual harassment. It is also crazy how long it took to get this decision and the money wasted on discovery etc. |
Not just money - discovery was humiliating for Blake and Ryan and while not career ending for Taylor and Matt Damon, certainly embarrassing and must have felt violating. But anyway, it seems like Judge Liman certainly carefully considered everything and said that the behavior did not meet the standard of sexual harassment. Especially given the power that Blake wielded on set. So no I don’t think California would’ve made much of a difference for that. I truly don’t think anything the lawyers could have done would’ve made that much of a difference. Their whole retaliation campaign argument was based on a bot army and one was never found. They tried to cover by saying it was untraceable, but that’s not really how things work. They subpoenaed over 100 content creators and found nothing, no coordination. Nobody was paid. It seems like Jed Wallace does some shady things but I certainly don’t think he’s smart enough to cover up a bot army. Maybe that was the intent and they saw what was happening organically and decided not to do it, but the fact of the matter is they found evidence of nothing, other than the general PR BS that every celeb does and Blake was certainly doing a thousand times more. The big mistake the lawyers made was ever letting it get this far. Maybe they convinced her filing the CRD and doing the New York Times articles was enough and he could never come back from that and it would end there. That was a grave mistake. But then they just kept doubling down at every turn for well over a year. |
Every one of her allegations was truthful. It was deemed not to be SH (or she was deemed an independent contractor who can't bring SH claims) but they were all real allegations. And the judge explicitly said that it was reasonable for her to have believed she was sexually harassed when these things happened. Baldoni is a bad director who no one liked and even his friends and business partners know to be immature and hard to work with. He ruined his own reputation. If he wanted to maintain a good reputation in Hollywood, he should perhaps not have asked is lead actress's trainer about her weight, kept bringing up his porn addiction on set, kept talking to Blake about her dead father, and kept offending actresses on set by calling them hot, saying he must have "missed the HR meeting", or saying he could talk like this because his wife was there. He also jut ran a disorganized and unprofessional set that many people complained about. Blake and Ryan didn't do any of that. I don't even like Blake and Ryan but Baldoni ruined his own rep by sucking at his job. How about make this adult man take responsibility for his own behavior instead of blaming it all on multiple women, his "neurodiversity", or Ryan Reynolds. I mean, grow up. |
NP. Even if all of this is true, why in the world would Blake and Ryan spend all this time and money on lawsuits because this guy was weird/immature/an a-hole/bad at his job? By the time you get to adulthood, literally everyone has had to deal with a sh*tty boss or crappy job at one time or another. That doesn't make it lawsuit-worthy-- or even if it IS lawsuit-worthy, it's very rarely worth the time, energy, and money to bring the lawsuit. Any sane person would move on with their life. They went the full-scale nuclear option for no other reason than exacting revenge on their perceived enemies, but spinning it as "I am standing up for all victimized women everywhere. Look at what a hero I am." It's straight out of the narcissist's playbook, basically. |
Why does this read like a 12 year wrote it? While much of the third paragraph is inaccurate, even taking it on its face, the alleged “parade of horrible” is pretty meh. He talked to Blake about her dead father? Stop the presses. He asked how much Blake weighed? The horror. Talk about having zero sense of what actual mismanagement or sexual harassment would look like. |
I don’t understand lying about Justin‘s track record. He had directed another low budget film with a budget of 6 million and it made 60 million. Very few directors in Hollywood would have that kind of success these days. He was the one who had the brains to adapt Colleen’s book before anyone else saw the value and made a killing off that. I know it’s an inconvenient truth, but he actually has talent. And he’s going to go on to develop direct and produce more movies, which is more than Blake can say. |
| The Blake bot still does not understand that the judge is REQUIRED to assume that Blake’s evidence is true when deciding a motion on the pleadings or summary judgment. Imagine thinking that was the same as them being true. No, sweetie, Blake chose to settle before the fact finders actually determined whether or not she was lying. |
Insanity to claim not only all, but ANY allegations were true. We caught her in lie after lie, and the judge said that her accusations did not meet the standard of sexual harassment. And everything about the retaliation was basically a lie - no untraceable smear campaign, no army of bots…. turns out people just really don’t like Blake and now they don’t like Ryan either. So interesting that Colleen Hoover stopped following Blake and Ryan (along with many others, together they lost 10 million followers) and has deleted all of the pictures of it ends with us except for the announcement that they were making a movie from her Instagram. She had tons with Blake from the press tour, etc., and they’re all wiped out. Blake’s shenanigans burned her - her next two movies after it ends with us have barely made a dent - with a moderate success, but reminders of him basically broke even, and with the upcoming verity they’re not selling it as a Colleen Hoover movie at all. |
Will Blake bot actually be paid or is that one of the padded invoices Blake and Ryan are going to sue over? lol |
Who the hell cares? A desperate aging singer marrying a fame-whoring idiot, it's Mariah Carey marrying Nick Cannon, pt II. |
I think people need to stop engaging with the Blake bot… |
The bot(s) certainly acted like they were paid per word, per post, and were billing 24 hours a day. Didn’t matter if it was 9AM, 7PM, or 4AM, they responded at all hours for more than a year.

Blake destroyed Hoover's brand and made it toxic. Hoover is partly to blame for going along with it at first. |
For sure. She handpicked Baldoni and was happy to do panels with him etc and then she wanted to get in with Blake. You could tell from her texts she was very enamored with her and with her relationship with Taylor. Admitted in her deposition that she unfollowed him because Blake told her to. Ultimately it did burn her. It seems like Colleen, Brandon, and Isabel all had positive experiences with Justin until Blake convinced them otherwise. I actually respect Jenny Slate more because she didn’t like him from the start and it seemed like she didn’t like him on her own terms, but they seemed to just go with who had the most power. |
Probably billing them $$$$$ but sub-contracted the actual work out to some Third World bot farm who worked 24/7 for pennies on the dollar |
