That's usually how it works :/ |

We had 24 hours to commit to pipeline with a $2650 price tag for the season. They said that they would reimburse if season didn't happen but the 24 hours is a bit ridiculous when other clubs haven't even begun to figure out the non-tryout thing. |

Okay that is definitely ridiculous. |

That’s probably because other clubs don’t know if they’re going to survive the shut down. I got an email from Pipeline weeks ago explaining how this year was going to go because of the current COVID situation. I have a daughter in another clubs lacrosse program and I’ve heard crickets from them |

That’s misleading, the deposit is fully refundable if no soccer next year, and the remaining payments don’t start until playing begins. The deposit isn’t due until June 1, so effectively you have almost two weeks to change your mind since offers went out almost a week ago. |

Agreed-- this sub-thread was started by an anti-Pipeline troll. We got our welcome letter yesterday. It clearly states the deposit is due on 1 June and the additional monthly payments will start on 15 July (or when practices/games begin). In addition, 100% of that money is FULLY REFUNDABLE if there is no 2020-21 season. Yes-- we were given 48 hrs to accept or decline the position (don't know where that 24 hrs number came from since we all got the same form letter), but we have another week or so to make our deposit. Yes-- they initially posted they were going to have tryouts, but like nearly all the programs in the area, they readjusted on 5/13 when it became clear that COVID restrictions would prohibit tryouts this Spring and potentially this summer. All of this was explained in an email, and is no different from what the other local organizations are doing. |

I am immediately prior poster. My son's team did have 24 hour turnaround for initial response, so that may vary among genders or age groups, but having until June 1 to pay the deposit is a constant. Moreover, other local teams have been soliciting interest so if pp wants to know if they can move to another club before paying, there is a mechanism for doing so. |

How does a club justify charging...
6 and 7 year olds $1850 8 and 9 year olds $2250 10 and 11 year olds $2450 12 through 18 Non ECNL Teams $2650 ECNL Teams $3200 Mr Drunk on the Pipeline Gatorade please explain your Pipeline love on the reasoning for these fees if it is not paying back the 1.5 million loan |

Geez, that’s pricey for U11 and under. Oh, and that million dollar settlement is true. I don’t know the final number though. The court case is available online for anyone to see even though a settlement was reached. |

Again, please provide a link to the settlement. I can’t find it and al very interested. |

Pipeline must really be a threat to some other local clubs given all the crazy rumors they try to circulate. No way in hell that nuisance suit with Coppermine settled for anywhere close to that because there was no damage sustained by Coppermine. I have no clue whether Pipeline has recently taken out a loan, but if they did, the most likely explanation is to help the club weather covid rebates. Banks don’t give loans for lawsuit settlements. Clearly the posters spreading these rumors have no legal background but I do. I also live in Baltimore and am familiar with the management of coppermine and Pipeline. |

Those fees are what Pipeline charges every year. |
|
I see chats about this is only a nuisance lawsuit, are we to believe that?
If it was only that, no big deal, doesn't mean anything, why so much secrecy? |

It’s not out of line with most of the clubs in NOVA |

What secrecy? You apparently are too lazy to read this whole thread, the actual claim in the lawsuit is discussed in depth. |
