Supposedly there was disagreements among the higher ups.

Kind of sad if you ask me.

Pipeline saw dollar signs

I am obviously slow on the uptake, but are you saying BA is folding because the Pipeline people want to go their own way? Would this leave SAC as the GDA team, or is GDA just being dropped altogether in MD?

Pipeline is just a feeder club to Armour. Armour would keep DA and Pipeline would get ECNL.

ECNL is only interested in Diluting at this point.

Isn’t BA just a combination of Pipeline and SAC? So if Pipeline drops the partnership, then BA just becomes the top SAC team, am I right?

Yes, if DA wants a program on the same level as Metro.

Metro wishes they had a feeder club as good as SAC

Ummm, pretty sure every BA team is 80% Pipeline!

And with a Baltimore Armour U15-U19 club record of 15-16-3 you might not want to put a exclamation point on that Pipeline bit.

Ok, but if the majority is Pipeline, what does that say about the program at SAC?

Seems Maryland United is the place to be.

Regardless of what happens one thing is for sure: things are sure to change again in a year or two. Thus is the saga of youth travel soccer.

Pipeline were going out of business a month ago?

I like this idea for many reasons. Girls like playing HS and this provides a true path to the next level for elite players who also want to play HS. Baltimore should have ECNL options given its size and soccer culture. Three area girls HS teams were ranked in the top 25 nationally.

If BA keeps DA, this will be a win-win for everyone except MUSC and BSC, which will both lose Baltimore-area players to Pipeline.

I've heard Pipeline is getting ECNL and I've heard rumors BA is going away...

Friend with connections to the clubs, so it is second hand.

Totally agree. Many of the Pipeline/Armour players took the fall off to play HS soccer at private schools. Crazies like posters here denigrate teams and clubs based on fall performance without realizing how many really talented players stepped away from club to play high school soccer. ECNL allows Pipeline to control the club schedule to account for HS.

There is more to playing high school sports than whether it is "good". Especially for girls. Social benefits, leadership opportunities, mentoring, being a part of a team in your school. It's especially helpful for 9th grade girls its a great way to build friendships in the school. Yes, there are downsides - but for most kids, the benefits outweigh the downsides.
