I know this staff very well and the guys who have been running the show are the same ones who book the practices & tourneys. They are always very conscious about the commute. No 'volunteer' ever assisted with scheduling practices/tourneys. |

The cats who operate and coach VLC are all great guys. But they need a drill sergeant type to keep all of the logistical balls from dropping. They also need to schedule more realistic tourneys where vLc teams aren’t just fodder for the best teams in the country. There will be only one Duke or Yale commit, if that, per class. Duke and Yale will find that player regardless. Everyone else will be recruited by lower d1 or high D3 schools. Go to tourneys that cater to those schools.
As for social media, it matters. Here’s a tip VLC - hire a VLC senior or recent grad. They’ll take car of that side of the business. |
| The last post is fake right? The cats who run VLC? Social media matters? What teams have strong social media? They are fodder for other teams? So going undefeated this fall is fodder? They should have played stronger teams. 15 recruits in 2020. It may be a little less with 2021 and 2022 but more than two kids will get recruited. 100%. |
| Calm down, Boomer. |
| Did you just refer to someone’s mom as “boomer?” |
Ok, Boomer. Thanks for making my case. Adios, clueless. |
This may sound like a boomer idea but that post sounded much more like a dad. |
| As a VLC parent who knows the Dulles South kids influence I would say that (from the prior post) yes we wouldn't want those kids to leave. We might however be fine if the parents did, or at least stopped coaching from the sidelines and let the actual coaches do their job. Your glory days are over, just be there and support your kid. If you don't trust the coaching at VLC, move on. |
| Dulles South influence? What’s that? |
| There are always a few parents on all clubs that like to coach from the wrong side of the field. This has nothing to do with Dulles South. VLC draws a lot of kids from that area. I would suggest talking to the parents. As the teams move up this will go away. |
That is a boomer idea. Some VLC mom’s really know the game as well. |
| Still no VLC 2021 commits? |
| Whoever keeps posting about commits on all the pages... Twitter is probably your best source for that info. People generally don't like answering simple questions on forums that are readily available elsewhere. If you need help setting up a Twitter account, ask your kid. You're welcome Boomer. |
| What’s this National Team they advertised? Are they following the Madlax model? |
| No nothing at all like that. This is a showcase similar to Under Armor that is being created by the NLF. There will be regional teams with open tryouts. I am guessing more Madlax and DCE players will be on the DC team than any other club |
