If it never occurred to you to ask to be transferred to Missouri you are clearly stupid.

You clearly have no idea how many of us do this. Maybe because we don't whine.

Also, it would be sorta weird for an upper elementary school student to go to Missouri, but just keep whining.

The entitlement to demand they be anything else or make up for the shortcomings of the entire DCPS structure is staggering.

But they opened a campus in Ward 5 and accepted families from wards 6-7-8. These people add to the diversity of the school. Our children are entitled to continue their education at lamb and lamb has a responsibility towards them. I understand there is tremendous hostility towards this group of parents, but I don't understand why. They're not focused on killing the dream of a unified school, they just want to be able to send their kids there without uprooting everyone.

There is no hostility towards parents from wards 6-7-8 who are looking for help with transportation. As a matter of fact, many families have said they'd be willing to support this effort even if they themselves don't need the transportation. There is hostility towards comments made here about diversity suggesting that transportation should me made available for the sake of the poor diverse and poor blacks, when in reality transportation is being sought for those living in million dollar townhomes on the hill. There is hostility towards comments that say I am going to ruin this for you Ward 4 families, though you make up a majority of the school and we hill people are a small minority. There is hostility towards blatant lies about what was said at last night's meeting and general misrepresentation about what is being said on the internal listserves.

I am not the PP, but did it occur to you that her child is probably in 4th or 5th grade and only has the SD option?

So you hate white people. Got it.

They want the rest of us to pay for them to stick their kids on a bus at 7:15 and go to work.

Great, that's the decision you made for your family.

We are asking for a different path. And you should support us because it is the right thing to do.

This. A million times over.

I don't think anyone has ever asked that. And if you want to ignore the impact that not providing shuttles will have on diversity and inclusivity, go for it.

But we will make sure the school and charter board know.

And if we are complaining about hostility, you are literally calling out people and shaming them. You're personally attacking parents and children under the cover of anonymity. If you have a problem with someone, email them directly. Don't come here and shame people for trying to figure out a way to get their kids to school. Shame on you.

1. That is exactly what is being asked for as far as I can tell.

2. I think it will have zero impact on diversity. What you mean by diversity is fewer white children, and the school has only gotten more white since the move to SD.

As opposed to you, who will walk down the street to Kingsbury. Pretty sure you're getting the better end of that deal.

I don't hate white people. If you would like to organize transportation to support your commute that's fine, happy to sign on to your letter of support. Just don't use poverty, diversity, and inclusion as an excuse for your transportation needs in hopes to get financial support from the school unless you are genuinely seeking it for the benefit of the group that needs the financial support.

There is a reason that those of us who will walk to Kingsbury applied to the lamb lottery and not to Mundo Verde, SWS or Two Rivers. We thought about our ability to commute in advance of attending our school.

An honest poster who doesn't even pretend with the bad faith diversity argument. Thank you.

Bitch, I personally know LAMB families who can't afford to pay for a shuttle to Kingsbury. Lots of charters subsidize busses. LAMB has no excuse for being any different.
