You and 21:54 are twitchy over AOC. Inferiority complex? Brace yourselves. |
remember when republicans talked about how she was popular and worrying and the dems were all like “lol obsessed much???” Then they accused the Republicans of attacking her only out of some sort of sexual attraction? Well wouldn’t you know it those arguments were not made in good faith it seems! |
| For the AOC people, with the electoral college system we have how are you seeing her flip the swing states that went for Trump? The math just doesn’t add up for me. Moderate voters aren’t exactly her wheelhouse. |
I think that given her platform and the opportunity to talk about it, she do just fine with moderate voters, because she’s mostly moderate. She will do poorly with far right extremists, yes, but I think we’ve had quite enough of paying attention to those people. |
Which argument are you talking about? I do think that many of them are angry than a beautiful intelligent woman makes them feel stupid. It’s for a similar, but in some ways different, reason that they are so obsessed with Hunter Biden. |
DP. That you continue to peddle this lunacy is very telling. I guess it makes you feel better about AOC? But frankly, it's always been beyond bizarre that this is the narrative you peddle. And Hunter Biden? WTAF are you talking about? |
Democratic socialist is going to be a hard sell for moderate voters. I know she has moved closer to the center as she seems to explore a run for something bigger than congresswoman from a liberal district in NYC, but that tag is going to follow her and be problematic in the purple areas she needs to flip. |
Stop kowtowing to moderates/independents. It’s ridiculous. They wear it like a special badge, but wtf do they stand for. Single issue cop outs. The choice is this fked up administration or a pool of brilliant, capable, young, sane candidates who will all fill every role spectacularly. |
Best of luck to you!

Remember all the states Obama won in 08 - Indiana, Ohio, Iowa, Florida, NC... He governed as a moderate but he was not viewed as one in the campaign. It's about someone who gets others excited. Not saying AOC is clearly that person who can make it happen but a lot of moderates are boring and don't generate the turnout or enthusiasm you need to win. |
Yeah this approach will work well. 🙄 Like it or not it is the moderates and independents that each party needs to convince to vote for them, and democratic socialist doesn’t scream brilliant, capable or sane to them. |
I mean I also never thought a plurality of voters would vote for Trump, but here we are. In a time when people are angry and want change, don’t underestimate the outsider. |
+1 The PP can't grasp this. It makes too much sense. |
Who are these brilliant candidates? so far I haven’t seen any, but I’m hopeful. I thought Whitmer but I was wholly disgusted with her communion video, not pleased she shut my home state but traveled during COVID (like Newsome and the restaurant) , and the hiding behind a binder in the WH? If she had a spine like Mamdani did owning up to what she was doing there and said I am doing what need to for my state, then fine. I’m done with her. AOC would be better as the next Pelosi. I’m not a fan of hers but she could be MUCH more effectual there plus as Speaker, she would have the possibility of outlasting any president, making her even more influential. Running her for president would be a waste of her talents IMHO. Too bad a Clinton-Romney type duo can’t be found. That’s probably the best that I could get behind. Yes, I realize it’s a mixed party ticket, but that is what I want. I’m done with hyper partisanism. |
Money, specifically very wealthy mega-donors, didn't have firm control of our political sysncetem 15 years ago. An AOC type has zero chance of advancing to party leadership positions in a political climate ruled by rich people who detest close the wealth divide policies. That fact sucks but that's where we are now in 2026 |
