For the AOC people, with the electoral college system we have how are you seeing her flip the swing states that went for Trump? The math just doesn’t add up for me. Moderate voters aren’t exactly her wheelhouse.
I think that given her platform and the opportunity to talk about it, she do just fine with moderate voters, because she’s mostly moderate. She will do poorly with far right extremists, yes, but I think we’ve had quite enough of paying attention to those people.
Democratic socialist is going to be a hard sell for moderate voters. I know she has moved closer to the center as she seems to explore a run for something bigger than congresswoman from a liberal district in NYC, but that tag is going to follow her and be problematic in the purple areas she needs to flip.
Stop kowtowing to moderates/independents. It’s ridiculous. They wear it like a special badge, but wtf do they stand for. Single issue cop outs. The choice is this fked up administration or a pool of brilliant, capable, young, sane candidates who will all fill every role spectacularly.
Who are these brilliant candidates? so far I haven’t seen any, but I’m hopeful. I thought Whitmer but I was wholly disgusted with her communion video, not pleased she shut my home state but traveled during COVID (like Newsome and the restaurant) , and the hiding behind a binder in the WH? If she had a spine like Mamdani did owning up to what she was doing there and said I am doing what need to for my state, then fine. I’m done with her. AOC would be better as the next Pelosi. I’m not a fan of hers but she could be MUCH more effectual there plus as Speaker, she would have the possibility of outlasting any president, making her even more influential. Running her for president would be a waste of her talents IMHO. Too bad a Clinton-Romney type duo can’t be found. That’s probably the best that I could get behind. Yes, I realize it’s a mixed party ticket, but that is what I want. I’m done with hyper partisanism.
