Savannah Guthrie’s mom is missing, suspect kidnapping

Anonymous
Cases like this will have 2 teams working on it, one will work it as a missing person and the other team will work it like a homicide.

The last person to see them will always be a suspect.
A male family member with no great alibi will always be a suspect. Saying someone is a suspect says nothing, it only says there is no alibi to rule them out.

Is this the same sister and brother in law who allegedly took the elderly mom to dinner? i.e. they're the last 2 people to have seen her alive?

Congrats, much stupid very dim

Finland and Sweden are "third world countries" by the original, correct definition of the term.

Also, whoever has the family member "working the case" ... they actually suck at their job and you are even worse for running to the internet with whatever information they feed your slack-jawed maw that you can't keep shut

Finland and Sweden are very much first world countries, in current and popular context of the use of that phrase. We obviously need to draw a picture for you and I'm sorry I don't have time to do that right now.

I haven’t seen any reputable news outlet mention any person of interest at all, let alone the daughter and son in law. That just sounds like idle speculation.

I sincerely hope they did not do this. That is even worse than a lunatic obsessed with Savannah or something. Geez.

I also hope they didn't do it. It would indeed explain why the public is not at risk.

Do you think Savannah would be staying at their home if she had been briefed by the FBI that her brother-in-law was a suspect? Get real.

This is a good point. I don’t think Savannah would be staying at the house if there was any likelihood of this. It also kind of does not make sense in terms of motive- why do this to your 84 year old mother in law? She did not have a ton of assets and with her age and health issues is (realistically) not going to be around for too may more years.

It’s well known that they’re a very close family and do a lot of things together. It’s not surprising that the Ashley Banfields and Maga types are running with this narrative. They should investigate every person in the family. I would be concerned if they didn’t! Looking into all possibilities Does not mean guilt, it means an effective investigation.

You can be close and have dysfunction and mental health issues, it's not mutually exclusive. Look at the Reiners. They were close-knit. The SIL is not officially a suspect as far as we know, but posing for family photos and having close moments, etc does not mean much. Often after murder suicides people talk about how they seemed like a happy family.

I would not call it idle speculation if it comes from a reputable journalist, but it certainly isn't official. I think this journalist understands she could ruin his life if she discussed this without having reputable sources.

Yes. The brother in law drove the elderly woman home after the dinner. His wife the woman’s daughter was not in the car.

It’s also a journalist who has spent the bulk of their career focused on legal issues and crime. This isn’t some rando on social media just spouting off their opinion.

Correct, Ashleigh Banfield has an inside source. I'm sure the cops didn't want that info leaked, but here we are.
