| I do hope Eloise's book gets tossed out entirely if she's next. It doesn't fit with the show character at all. |
They were really stressing the point that maids are invisible. Is the hope that nobody worth listening to notices and Sophie's stepmom is basically blackmailed into saying nothing? |
It does seem like they were just winging it a bit and hoping their connections work out. But I think the missing piece here would have been for them to get Cressida on board. She's married to the exact person who really could have engineered the lie and is exactly poised to expose it. Getting them to play nice would have sold the ending a bit more. |
| The Queen is on board. No one is going to upset that apple cart |
I think this would have been an excellent addition to the story! Cressida is one of the more fun characters in Bridgerton anyway and would have her own strong incentive to get into Eloise's (and the family's) good graces again... and it would have made the scheme to invent for Sophie a "lineage" a lot more sophisticated and substantiated. (Right now, the whole "scheme" seems to boil down to "Alice gets everyone in the same room and crosses her fingers"...) |
| I think Cressida came back so they can set her up to be the new whistledown. That’s why they had the whole scene revealing that she reads books now. |
Ohh I was thinking Hyacinth, but Cressida is a good call. |
Didn't we already see how poor a writer she is? |
Hyacinth is too naive and ditzy to be the next Whistledown. |
And she still doesn't have access to all the events. I hope she doesn't have a romance for a while since she's so young it'd be creepy. |
TOTALLY, agree with this! Plus, maybe it is just me and my crowd, but Eloise seems so obviously gay/queer. She and Michaela would be a great match! |
Maybe it'll be Eloise? |
I don't think it will be Eloise or any of the Bridgertons because every season involves one of them falling in love and getting married and I think it's awkward/weird to have one of the siblings writing about the others. Like think about when it's Hyacinth's and Gregory's seasons -- she's going to be writing gossip about their romantic lives? It doesn't make sense. Also the new Whistledown basically said she was going to be more gossipy than the last one, which just doesn't read as Eloise or any Bridgerton to me. I really like the suggestion of it being a servant, maybe being informed by other servants or maybe being informed by their boss. The idea of Sophie's manservant friend being Lady Whistledown and maybe getting dirt via Cressida sounds kind of fun to me. |
I think it might be Varley. She was already helping Penelope. |
| I hated this season and thought that Sophie was SO poorly cast. |
