I think Cressida came back so they can set her up to be the new whistledown. That’s why they had the whole scene revealing that she reads books now.
Ohh I was thinking Hyacinth, but Cressida is a good call.
Hyacinth is too naive and ditzy to be the next Whistledown.
And she still doesn't have access to all the events. I hope she doesn't have a romance for a while since she's so young it'd be creepy.
Maybe it'll be Eloise?
I don't think it will be Eloise or any of the Bridgertons because every season involves one of them falling in love and getting married and I think it's awkward/weird to have one of the siblings writing about the others. Like think about when it's Hyacinth's and Gregory's seasons -- she's going to be writing gossip about their romantic lives? It doesn't make sense. Also the new Whistledown basically said she was going to be more gossipy than the last one, which just doesn't read as Eloise or any Bridgerton to me. I really like the suggestion of it being a servant, maybe being informed by other servants or maybe being informed by their boss. The idea of Sophie's manservant friend being Lady Whistledown and maybe getting dirt via Cressida sounds kind of fun to me.
