College and University Discussion
Such a dumb perspective. It's like saying I prefer getting my sashimi from a landlocked state. Provincial hick logic. |
Woosh - those goal posts! |
Gaslighting about gaslighting. That’s next level trolling. We have Trump and Charlie Kirk because people are idiot a-holes. It’s not that deep. |
I’m 23. You sound ridiculous. |
Not everyone cares about ivies Not everyone cares about ivies Not everyone cares about ivies Got it yet? |
Yeah right. |

You’re still gaslighting |
Rich white school lol |
Lots of people simply don’t give a shit about Ivy League schools. But don’t worry - I’m sure you’ll find plenty of brain dead morons who will be impressed by little Larlo’s tenacity in taking the SAT six times so Mommy and Daddy can spend half a million dollars to have him educated by TA’s. |
The pickings in California are slim. UC San Diego, UC Irvine are not "top" universities. They are solid ones, equivalent to a UMass or a UConn or a Georgia. The SAT's before tests being banned in California were around 1250-1350. Solid, but not top. So if you want something stronger than that, your options are UCLA, Berkeley, Stanford, Claremont colleges, Caltech, maybe SLO or Oxy. However, since Berkeley and UCLA admit only by high school, it is a lottery for a high stats applicant from a strong high school. Caltech and Claremont Colleges are small. Stanford is Stanford. So there is decidedly not the same range of schools available to the mid-Atlantic, northeast student population. |
Which makes sense. New England has a great scene for small colleges and private institutions, but the big public schools…well, they aren’t that great beyond certain programs (Umass CS, SUNY ESF, etc). The SEC schools do have a decent amount of top programs and resources as flagships, and the party scene and sports scene is great. Now I don’t really believe there’s any concerning amount of students who were off to Harvard or Yale who suddenly discovered UGA was for them. |
Not true. A&M rejects 40% of their applicants and its ranking is pretty decent for publics. Not a bad school hey any objective measure. Of course, the freaks on this thread are anything but objective. |
You have many times the public options as northeast students. Boston isn’t much better when you consider the choices are literally Harvard, MIT, Wellesley, etc etc. |
High-stats kids covet high-ranked schools |
