Is Gonzaga anticipating to have a down year this coming spring?
Shocked with how few D1 verbals they have on this list. Seems unlike them |
|
Gonzaga's program has been on a gradual decline since Casey O'Neill retired.
If you compare the past W-L record from the 4 years under Jeff King to the final 4 years under Casey O'neill, the data clearly shows, the program is nowhere close to what it once was on the National stage. |
| Gonzaga has been hurt by the rise of Good Counsel, SJC, and PVI as lower cost alternatives. However, the 28 and 29 classes are stronger than 26 and 27 were. I imagine he WCAC will have more parity at the top with SJC leading the way and then Gonzaga, PVI, Good Counsel, and DeMatha being up and down year to year. |
|
SJC is no where close to being as dominant as they once were 4 seasons ago.
WCAC ship is up for grabs this Spring which makes the league very exciting to follow. You have 5 - 6 teams capeable of beating one another which was not the case just 3 years ago. Looking into the IAC, you have maye 3 teams that can beat one another. |
Where do we think SSSAS shakes out in next year's IAC in Coach Garret's year 2? |
6th |
SSSAS has absolutely no draw our appeal anymore for kids for lax. Kids they used to go are def picking other schools these days. Ince is a great coach, but coaching is not the issue. He can only do so much with the talent he has |
|
SSSA is hardly allocating any resources for boys lacrosse. The Saints were terrible last season so any improvement is a good thing. Maybe they are a bit more competitive with EHS and STA, but I doubt it.
I don't see any head coach having success there with the current headmaster. The current admin has zero regard for athletics. |
| Look for a similar fall for PVI they will be ok this season with a strong senior class but literally nothing for 2027_2028 classes and the JV team is getting beat by public school JV teams in the VEL league. |
They have a 5-1 record in VEL. |
Said someone who knows nothing about the school. |
Landon |
Ehh it’s very accurate. Other than girls lacrosse, and this is due to KJ, what other program at Saint Stephen’s is relevant? The school has turned its back to athletics a few years ago and as a result it’s not even fully enrolled. Current admin is terrible Former saints parent |
