DeSantis will give solid NY cops a $5,000 signing bonus.

The wealth pouring into Florida from NY and CA is astonishing.

I own a home in FL and grew up in CA. Nobody and I mean none moves from CA to FL. That is a downgrade.

That was way back when you were a kid. Keep up.

Trust me. I still have business in CA. I'm in touch with the culture there. No one would ever move to Florida. The weather is so gross in Florida compared to CA.

Remarkable that today caring for the poor rather than enriching billionaires with more tax cuts is considered “communism”. This country has drifted so far to the right that people become enraged at the very notion of reducing income inequality.

Yeah, this thread is sad. People are SO scared of change. What we had with the Dems wasn't working either. I'm a GenX all for this kind of change. As my 19yo reminds me, whenever there is a flaw in a socialist country, socialism is blamed. But, democracy isn't ever blamed. I thought it was an interesting point. He pushes me, and frankly I think it's exciting. I'm more scared of a trumpist dictatorship/technobro cities than young socialists up and down and all the ways.

Capitalism is always blamed. I keep hearing about late stage capitalist being the cause of all our woes.

What will happen is that these socialist efforts will fail, but we will be told that "real" socialism has never been tried or that we didn't throw enough money down the hole. Socialism never addresses the free rider problem.

+1. also great to see the hypocritical centrist Dems that cannot bear to look into the mirror and face the truth that they are in fact country club republicans.

I have progressive LGBTQ+ family members in NYC and they love this guy!! Socialism means we all benefit equally!! There is no downside!! We finally time we tax the wealthy elites in new york and fund a bigger and stronger government. Free healthcare, free food, raise minimum wage, 3 day work weeks (go unions!) eliminate homelessness and all poverty! It should be mandatory that all schools hit diversity quotas and are taught about LGBTQ+ inclusivity in each grade! We can’t stand for a Cuomo predator. Defund the police and tax the rich!! This is the model of America that I can get behind.

Is your idea of competence Rudy Giuliani?

The mobster was good but I recall he wanted Yasser Arafat arrested when Arafat was negotiating with bill Clinton wtf? Just to suck up to the Jews which makes this new development hilarious

That’s fine.
NYC used to be a mecca for artistic and interesting types. People who are “making money” are often not very culturally attuned, so no great loss. Plenty of good steak places and whore houses in other parts of the country.

Maybe this has already been discussed. I just learned he’s the son of Mira Nair-a fairly famous filmmaker who did two great movies Monsoon wedding and Mississippi Masala at a time when female filmmakers (let alone Asian ones) were quite uncommon. Here’s to the sons of strong women!

Not that PP but in general, I believe that unfettered capitalism is not ideal (screws over the little guy, market crashes like 2008), but communism is also not ideal (ser, Soviet Union). We need to figure out the happy medium. Socialism is it, just depends how much is too much or too little.
