Waitlist movement

With a waitlist probably close to 20k, this is not going to be an issue. They could double the number they took last year and still barely crack 10% of their waitlist.

I know a few straight A students who would love to be given a spot off the Michigan waitlist.

+1, my kid too, full pay OOS. The PP claiming that UMich was having trouble filling its class was trolling.

Very typical here. Same troll that constantly claims Michigan is falling apart. Ignore.

Most colleges have not closed their waitlists.

As for it being June, it's only been June for a few minutes. Let's see what happens this week.

Last year- almost all were closed by 6/1. Most of the movement was mid-May.

That is not accurate. While movement decreases from May to June, most closed end of June. And this year there has been more movement for certain schools, which almost certainly will not close before the end of June.

We know a kid who was accepted off UMich waitlist on Friday.

AT this point, I imagine any new acceptances will only be FULL PAY.

Is there a good CC thread on open waitlists?

Saw some interesting things on CC:

https://talk.collegeconfidential.com/t/2025-waitlists-expect-movement-read-why-and-list-them-here/3687896/527

"My daughter in Boston just alerted me to the fact that Boston College has just extended acceptances to 400 students off their wait list, an all time high for them. Her understanding is that this is at least partially driven by the loss of international students, which is an outsized financial loss since so many international students are full pay."

WashU was moving again on Friday:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ApplyingToCollege/comments/1kzfwcd/did_like_all_waitlists_close/

While schools like Northwestern and Dartmouth have said they will keep the WL open through June, but not likely to move further (or at all in D case) unless international acceptances deteriorate.

The International visa issue is a thing.
