Waitlist movement

Michigan is not done. They had a delay in the financial aid office, so that the first wave has an enrollment deadline of May 30. From reddit, OOS seem not necessarily thrilled with their packages.

Michigan responses were due last week but extended until tomorrow for those requesting aid.
Offers came out last night.
We got zero aid and are passing.

To clarify, were you expecting aid per the Net Price Calculator, and the actual package was a disappointment?

Good question and I don't know actually because I'm not the parent who has been handling the aid. But we have received aid (financial, not merit) from other schools and actually just got aid from another top20 (also off the waitlist). This is our 3rd kid in college so there are a lot of moving parts.

Do you think all the movement has something to do with the uncertainty over student loans?

No. There is no uncertainty over federal student loans for undergrads. Maybe you mean Parent Loans?

The uncertainty is likely related to international student visa issues.

Sounds like it’s not her top choice, but if any chance she would have chosen it had she been accepted on admit day then don’t be afraid to switch. Mine did last year, not behind, and best decision.

UChicago? There was some WL acceptances in early May but seemingly no movement since, even on Reddit.

Anyone hear of any recent admits?
