Waitlist movement

Harvard took a handful today and told everyone else that the waitlist won't be closed until late in the summer--like August--so kids are welcome to continue on it or drop off now.

Exactly. Your kid can opt out of the waitlist and move on. But, if other students want to hold onto a sliver of hope until the last possible moment, then so be it. Not to mention, these are unprecedented times right now with what’s happening in higher education generally, to include a lot of uncertainty on the international student front. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with schools continuing to make offers from the waitlist if spots open up.

Emory is closed/paused for both campuses.

Brown started sending out WL rejections yesterday. Not sure of any details beyond that, but know someone who received it (and it wasn't because of any bad developments in transcript, etc.).

Brown is also still admitting kids off the waitlist. Someone got off on Reddit for engineering yesterday. A few others got the rejection email.

Just to be clear, Brown has one college in which you can concentrate in Engineering or change to Contemplative Studies - not separate schools
