No, I am trying to point out that the democrats posting here have a real problem with someone not washing their hands, and keep harping on about it.

Can we get back to discussing what a terrible choice this is for Sec Def? Will they make this Major resign his military position before putting him in charge of Generals and Admirals, etc.?

Seems like a really bad move and a slap in the face of military rank.

We aren’t. At all. We put people in danger and don’t have the physical strength to be effective in combat. There are jobs in the military women can be effective at, but fighting in combat is not one of them.

Another woman veteran who agrees. People just don’t understand what the military asks of you haven’t served. While “in combat” is a loose term because all military members could be in a combat situation when deployed, in any job, there are certain jobs in the military that should be closed to women for the benefit of everyone. But there are many fields within the military where women are effective and do the job well. Men and women aren’t equal. We just aren’t.

I am genuinely curious why you think a person's sex, rather than their physical ability, should be the deciding factor. I'll concede there may be jobs that are so physically strenuous that a woman can't do it. But why does that mean you have to ban women from doing it? Shouldn't you just test/train/sort for the required physical requirements, and if it's only men who qualify that's fine?

So you don't wash your hands post deployment? I get it's not possible when you are deployed, but when you are the weekend host at FOX news and you brag you haven't washed your hands after taking a dump for ten years because "germs aren't real" think about how that type of person might govern the DOD.

Last year only Marines made their quota. This is why the dems were talking about bringing back draft. Do you want that? There is a huge morale problem not to mention veterans suicide. Hegseth has dedicated his life to helping veterans. He won the bronze star two times. He is a hero. He also understands war and will keep this in mind and look out for the troops. I predict he fixes the woke issues that are hurting morale. He is incredibly smart and will have what it takes to run a smooth and inclusive department.

The Us Cold War policy of containment was an epic fail. All we did was support right wing military juntas worldwide from Latin America to Africa to Asia. Instead of allowing them to have socialism over there, we prefer they come over here to the Western world where socialism is acceptable and a driver to the middle class.

Look at Afghanistan in the 70s to it now.

You are thinking logically and I agree. I feel bad for the women talking about how their presumably disappointing personal performances in combat have led to a strong opinion against the performance of “all women” in combat roles and operations.

There are many other women who have been successful in both direct and indirect combat roles and operations and do not look back on their deployments as anecdotes against women serving in combat roles.
