In a way- pregnancy can be very risky and sometimes measures needed to be taken to save the mother's life. |
I'm the PP who wrote about my DIL. I would LOVE for this pregnancy of a wanted baby to come full term. But, I'm realistic.
And I want appropriate health care for my DIL if the pregnancy is unviable or if the baby would be born with a serious health condition that would not insure survival. We want these measures in place because its humane for the pregnant woman. I cannot believe anyone would think otherwise. |
Zealots would. They are crazy and unhinged ASF. |
Harris is winning Iowa and the election. Her close has been amazing. Not one step out of place this whole campaign, and kudos to Joe for giving her the reigns. |

Let’s get it done! |
As a woman who's been fortunate to have only healthy and successful pregnancies, I always considered it important to have access to all potentially necessary medical care in case of a disaster. Just like if you were having surgery, you'd want your surgeon and anesthetist to be prepared and equipped to deal with serious complications, not just say "well most people are fine." So yes, but I'd never put it in terms of "the possibility of having an abortion," which is a great way to make it sound weird. |
Not that PP but I have a sibling who found themselves in the situation of discovering their desired pregnancy had a major genetic issue coupled with a major anatomic issue at the anatomy scan. They were faced with the decision to carry to term and watch it die or have an abortion (which is decidedly lower risk for 2nd trimester vs induction if you pull any of numerous studies on this topic). They aborted. It was not an easy decision. They are now pro choice (still decidedly republican/libertarian) and said the Republican party shot itself in the foot the day RvW was overturned. This was before I got pregnant with my own desired pregnancy in my late 30s. It did make me consider what I would do as I knew that by late 30s, my risk of complication for myself or for the baby were higher. It was very top of mind. |
If you don't consider the possibility that your pregnancy might not got to term or have other complications, you are not living in reality. Something like 20-40% of pregnancies miscarry. If you miscarry, you may need D&C or other help to complete the process safely. |
I know enough people who have had complications to know that there's a possibility that any pregnancy may need medical intervention and may not come to term. |
+1. PP seems completely ignorant with regard to reproductive healthcare. A lot of pro-life women are infertile so they have no understanding of pregnancy or what is involved in raising children. That’s also why they claim to be pro-life but don’t support the things that are vitally important to raising happy and healthy children such as equal access to healthcare, clean water and air, less guns, mental health services, public schools, etc. |
The vast majority of abortions are elective. Both mom and baby are completely healthy. Also, lots of democrats view their own babies as a parasite that is harmful and foreign. They vehemently categorize a pregnancy that results from consensual sexual activity as slavery and a takeover of their bodies. It’s their own child they are speaking about in this way. It is so creepy! Seriously, get a birth control implant and stop making your own children your enemies and killing them. |
The ONLY people saying “a D&C is an abortion” are abortion advocates and promoters. It’s a deliberate falsehood. People who want a total, 100% ban on all abortion do not support a ban on D&C procedures because they understand the unborn baby is already dead, and needs to be removed. Y’all should really stop with this whole “they’ll even ban D&C’s!” nonsense. Because it makes you look like liars. Which you are, btw. But it destroys your credibility, and im fine with that. |
