It is creepy that that is how you interpret the concern for the pregnant DIL. |
This isn't happening |
Trump proposed Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid cuts in every single budget while he was President. |
Ok. It does not account for the majority of senior men voting against him, which they are not |
It's really amazing how many are going all in with this outlier poll, interpreting voting trends that none of the hundreds of other polls nationally have captured. I wish you all the best of luck Tuesday night when reality strikes. |
Exactly. It’s as though every woman is …..expected?….. to have at least one abortion at some point, and if they don’t, they’re somehow less-than. |
NP. My best friend just lost a very wanted, planned pregnancy. They showed up to the 12-week appointment and learned there was no heartbeat. She has a long medical history (and is a cancer survivor) and didn’t want to have to be put under for a D&C, so she had to take mifepristone (the abortion pill) to expel the pregnancy. Psychotic Republicans in red states want to make this pill illegal. They have literally said it. Thankfully my friend is in MD, but it is a completely reasonable and rational fear that red states will pass laws that literally interfere with reproductive healthcare. |
No, we’re just not callous to those who do experience tragedies and firmly believe they need protecting. Someone in this thread prefers to ignore women in the margins with language like “almost all” and “most” and “potential” as if it’s okay to sacrifice some women to their shitty “pro-life” pov. |
What an incredibly weird and insensitive take. Every pregnancy has the risk of life-threatening complications. |
But do you consider the possibility of having an abortion with each pregnancy? |
It’s creepy that you are so ignorant. Pregnancy is actually quite dangerous for women. Multiple things can go wrong and sadly often do. Why do you suppose there are so many superstitions about preparing for a baby before his or her healthy arrival? Add in unacceptably high maternal mortality rates in the United States (more than double that of other high income countries) and yeah, there is a lot of scope for tragic outcomes. |
DP Are you this dense? Anti abortion laws make it more difficult/risky for doctors to perform life saving abortions even if the law has an exception for the life of the mother (because it inserts a legal process into a medical decision). Abortion care is healthcare. |
PP: They do not understand that an abortion can be “life saving.” It literally does not compute in their little heads. Impossible to negotiate with these people who do not even share the same set of facts as you and me. Breaking them with sheer political power and electoral might is the only language they understand. |
