Lonestar is a GA Champions Cup team, so you look at with the supposed end of FCV the GA will be without 5 of its 16 best clubs for next year.

In addition to that, Lonestar & Nationals both fielded two full GA teams per age.

Leaving Champions Cup status, and two teams for 1 spot in RL? Deathblow marketing wise for GA

Good point. The true scoreboard in terms of sheer numbers is that Lonestar and Nationals account for two teams each.

GA essentially lost 6 clubs and has added 7. If we look at it from a quality vs quantity, the ECNL is winning that hands down.

A top Lonestar coach left for Sting and took teams with him. Also Lonestar is only strong in the 2010 and 2007 age groups.

This likely explains the switch...
1. They didn't want to lose any more players. (If Lonestar and Sting are in the same league it's harder to steal players)
2. Lonestar would likely start dropping off quickly in GA.
3. ECRL probably gave them 2x teams (they currently have 2x GA teams)

Not really. Lonestar was already on a downward slope. Their teams are all making a run to sting ECNL. They will be a mid tier team at best.

Quite impressive to see every club leaving GA for ECNL being downplayed, while every club joining GA is being hyped up.

Take league bias out, the clubs that if you were starting a league you’d want, almost all fall into ecnl now.

Both have good, average and bad. If you are in either league you will do okay college recruiting wise, but you may see less top colleges going to GA as that very cream of the crop is gone.

That GA kool-aid is good kool-aid! Though, we're starting to see the old DA clubs see through the smoke and mirrors and realize that GA will never be what the DA once was. Won't be surprised to see a Top Hat jump ship as well. If the shedding continues, the GA will be nothing more than a glorified ECNL-RL or "B" league, except with much higher travel expenses. And many GA parents will still say the kool-aid tastes great and continue to believe that they're DD plays in a "Top" league.

When your claim to fame is adding a better RL team to your league after losing 4 clubs that are in more than half of your champions league, you’re just plain ignorant.

Has an ECNL club ever left for the GA? And after inception year did any ECNL clubs leave for the DA or did they all come crawling back? Any….even 1 in either case? The comparison between leagues is a joke it’s not based in any reality anywhere.

Ironic that an ECNL cheerleader would say "GA Kool-Aid".

In comparison, ecnl kool-aid is sugar free and without artificial sweeteners unlike the GA trying to make up the loss of some of their top programs with the addition of a bunch of mediocre clubs. Not one club has left the ECNL for the GA. On the flip side, there have been 4 packing and moving out of the GA and we're still in February.
