Kristin Mink

What a horrible person Mink is, asking police to literally do the things in their job description by keeping White Supremacists from physically assaulting people instead of just watching. The nerve of this lady.

Although Montgomery County police responded to the scene at Loyalty Bookstores on Saturday, Mink said Proud Boys were mostly able to continue approaching those defending the story hour. There were no arrests or official reports of injuries Saturday.
Mink, who said she met with the police chief and requested a more robust response, said she hopes the police department’s approach to future story hours will prevent altercations and allow families and children to hear a drag queen tell stories without fear of intimidation, harassment and violence.

This is what she wants tho, right? Less policing and intervention? This is a GOOD thing that they’re only watching.

Really, she said she wants police to not intervene in assaults they observe? Lol police are lazy f&CKS and they are demanding more money to NOT do their jobs. You know your tax dollars go to paying these people? The notion they should stop doing their jobs because you don't like one councilmember's tweets is just so ridiculous. These police let white supremacists assault a sitting councilmember. If that doesn't speak to a deep rot in the organization then I don't know what does

Their behavior should be grounds for dismissal.

Why bother with facts, after all? You have your snap judgment, based on nothing, and that's all you need!

Not that the FOP has asked for my opinion, let alone my advice, but I think they made a big strategic mistake in going after Councilmember Mink in the first place. And then it backfired on them. Maybe they will learn from this.

Let's not forget that MCPD got caught in a blatant lie claiming they "dispersed" the Proud Boys when instead what they did was watch them assault people and then let them leave when the story hour was over.

I don't understand.

Mink said she doesn't want police to basically do their jobs. Now she does want police to do their jobs.

Can't have it both ways.

Likely what you mean is: you don't want to understand.

Note that councilmember Mink has not criticized MCPD for failing to protect a councilmember from a violent threat, even though I (not a councilmember) believe it would be a very valid criticism. I hope Chief Jones is asking some questions, internally.

The man who is injured isn’t even sure where or who injured his nose and November official reports of injury were filed. I wonder if another volunteer accidentally injured him.

I think the proud boys are despicable but after reading this article I don’t think they’re the ones to caused his bloody nose.

The two things that PP stated can be true. I know it’s a crazy concept.

There is a non zero possibility the nose was busted by a volunteer. Is there any reason or evidence to support that happened? No.

And MCPD as a whole should be sanctioned for lying in the police report.

Instead, the County Executive is allowing them to use temporary money for signing bonuses. Council will of course approve permanent funding for this because for all whining on this thread about how the Council hates police, there is no way politically they are going to be able to take this money away. Meanwhile MCPD will continue the work stoppage abd blame "the rhetoric" for increased crime to distract from the fact they are not doing the jobs they are being paid to do.
