I need someone to explain the value of drag queen story hour to me like I'm 5. I don't get it, don't see the value in exposing my kids to drag queens at 5 and 6 (I wasn't exposed until I was a teen in Hollywood), and I don't understand how it's become some litmus test for not being a bigot. I just don't understand where it came from and why it's like catnip for many/most liberals.

You're looking at this backward. It's become a litmus test for being a bigot.

If you don't want to take your children to a drag queen story hour, that's fine, you don't have to. In fact, you don't have to take your kids to any story hours at all.

So who are these people who are protesting violently outside drag queen story hours, and why are they doing this?

There. That's an example.

So there are 6 district councilmembers whose district the fire didn't happen in; and of those 6, 1 of them tweeted about it; and you're focusing on 1 of the 5 who didn't because...well, why?

Yes, and they clearly approach when the guy starts stepping on people's feet. It's not a crime for the Proud Boys to be there if they are peaceful.

I wouldnt bring my 5 and 8 yr olds to it, so I don't. Easy enough.

It's a story hour with a reader in a princess dress, some kids like that. I've never been, but I understand why you would.

Friedson (District 1)
Albornoz (at large)
Glass (at large and President)
Stewart (District 4)

all tweeted about it. Curiously, none of the public safety committee members did.

It's Stewart's district. Other than that, it's 1 of the other 6 district members and 2 of the 4 at large members. But yeah, let's talk about Kristin Mink.

But they weren't peaceful. Then what did MCPD do?

The thread is ABOUT her. No one started a new thread to say "hey guess what, she didnt tweet about the fire..."

Yeesh. The damage control in this thread is really something

Ok. Then why not princess story hour. Why does the princess need to be a man with over the top makeup pretending to be a woman. Some strippers where princess dresses to start — why not stripper story hour?

Why do you care? If you don't like it, don't go.

Yep.

If they schedule it in public schools, thats a different conversation.

No one is making you go to this book store with your kids.

I don't see that in the video.

The story keeps changing. First, MCPD "dispersed" the PB. Then, they weren't even there. Now, they "approached" when feet were stepped on.

I haven’t even read this thread but Kristin Mink is like a caricature of Woke. So much that I can’t even believe that she’s a real person. It’s like Northern Virginia sent her here to ensure that Montgomery County seals its fate on the Broke Train to Wokeness.
