Airplane noise concerns overblown?

It’s really that bad.

Great, problem solved. Take yourself off your former neighborhood listserv then.

You don’t know anything about the posters. They might be your neighbors. Just like multiple ones daily bitterly complaining on the listserve every day.

“Leave, sell, get off the listserve” speaks volumes. Even if I didn’t know anything about the problem, your extreme defensiveness tells me where there’s smoke there’s (quite) a fire.

Anonymous wrote:Really? People don’t notice holes in the roof during a rarely granted inspection, but they are going to notice plane noise on a Sunday afternoon when it’s the lowest in the week? They are all informed enough to know how horrible the largely invisible pollution is for them and especially their kids? For real!! Like it’s not stressful enough to go house shopping.

Just don’t lie. How hard is that?

Don’t know about the others, but I’m worked up because you’re stonewalling so much it’s embarrassing for me as a fellow human being.

So you are saying there is so little airplane noise on a Sunday afternoon that it goes unnoticed? That sounds to me like the issue is really overblown then. And those who buy without doing proper research about the neighborhood have only themselves to blame. NextGen has been in place since 2015. The only people who can justifiably be upset are those who lived there before it was implemented. And those people had plenty of time to move while prices were soaring and rates were at their lowest.

Keep telling yourself that. It’s only a matter of time before someone sues for misrepresentation. It’s also only a matter of time before people wise up to the health issues associated with the flight path and noise.

The noise is nothing on Sunday compared to workdays. But are you saying that’s terrible now too?

Like with Spring Valley you’ll still have some buyers for your blighted property. But unless something changes, most sane people will look elsewhere.

Honestly, my issue is the gaslighting and actively putting down people, including your neighbors, willing to tell the truth.

It’s DC. People sue for all sorts of things.

You’re calling people willing to live with plane noise insane. That’s putting down. And in a very non PC way.

My son had his soccer games at MacArthur HS and the plane noise was a bit bothersome to me. Hopefully the school has soundproof walls.

I lived in spring valley for 20 yrs and we had a plane fly over every min from 6am until 10-11. Somehow you just get used to the sound,
my children born there, didn’t know any different. Yet my neighbor based on how her house was situated, heard nothing. The hum of the plane became comforting and familiar. Though didn’t miss it when I moved to Md and could sleep with the windows open.

Go for it. File your lawsuit for misrepresentation. See how that works out for you.

And that attitude is exactly what makes people get loud about just how bad the Palisades has become. The number of times I have heard the neighbors laugh it off to outsiders but complain in private; or the agents tell people they are being drama queens and to have a cocktail (presumably indoors)… Just be a fair human being, don’t be evil. People are struggling and you want them to buy a house because they’ll be happy there not because you tricked them. Plenty of people will because prices are better in the Palisades, schools are good. But being so dishonest about the noise and the health risks is some seriously bad karma.

Who is suing who for what misrepresentation in this scenario? You’re not making any sense.

Whatever. Is there no plane noise? Is there not a plane or two a minute? Is it not disrupting your life and sleep? Not to mention the pollution. Maybe focus on that and not on whether you got away with tricking unsuspecting buyers.

If none of the above is true, are all the posts on the listserve also just making it up? Come on already. Most such areas in the rest of the country are inhabited only by the people who have no other choice. If you were honest you could advocate better.

The only one complaining about this is you. You’ve been posting over and over in this same thread. It is very obvious it is the same person so please don’t lie and deny it.

How many times will this thread get discussed.

move to Olney if you don't want plane noise.

It's a major Global city and you live in it..of course you'll have airplane noise. I've lived on the River for decades and it never once has been an issue. I've never spoken to a neighbor who even cares. I think there are like 10 people who keep regurgitating fear.

Get airpod pros if you can't sleep

Advocate for closing the airport? Limiting flights? Moving the flight path to someone else’s neighborhood? There are planes. You either decide to live with them or you move.
