There are multiple posters involved in this discussion, and I believe you are incorrectly attributing some posts by others to me. That aside, I did not say I opposed screening testing, nor did I say everyone in APE is opposed to screening testing. There are some APE members who have registered their children for screening testing; others have not. Similarly, there are people outside of APE who have opted both for and against screening testing. |
Outbreak? 6 football players? I'm sure they're not hanging out together outside of football. LOL |
You're not very good at counting if you think there are only 6 cases. |
eh that's just the standard MO for Covid deniers. Use excuses to pretend it didn't spread in schools or on sports teams and undercount cases. You can see the real numbers on the dashboard and they ain't pretty. |
There's a total of 20 cases for all of Wakefield in the last 7 days in a HS with 2,241 kids (0.9%). Most likely every single one of them is vaccinated. Most likely, they're all asymptomatic This is a virus that will be here the rest of our lives. Get a grip! |
Exactly. Most likely, every single person will be exposed to COVID repeatedly for the rest of their lives. Better when you're young and healthy. APS students are in some of the best years of their lives. These football players will remember their football years for the rest of their life. It's sad folks like SR are wanting to take away lifetime memories because of their own paranoid view of COVID. I'm sure they'd love to shut down the football team if they could. Pathetic. Wakefield Warrior football rules!!! |
This is exactly right. SARS-CoV-2 is so widespread not only among humans but in so many animal species that it is never going away. Get a grip, indeed! For the people that are still in a state of hysteria, what is your end game? Are you going to keep kids in a box forever? |

The difference would be if you were vaccinated for the norovirus and had 0 symptoms. That's called "you're not sick". |
I agree. We're all about the fun here. The difference would also be that it would super fun to know that I'm positive for COVID, go unmasked and share COVID with everyone around and then see who gets sick and who doesn't. Delta Delta Delta can I help ya help ya help ya. |
Every adult can get vaccinated. And children under 12 have less risk than a vaccinated 30 year old. This virus will be here forever. The only solution logical solution you're proposing then is that we live like this forever then. Nope - people are done, especially once the vaccine comes out for 5 to 11 year olds. Everyone will be exposed to COVID repeatedly for the rest of their lives. If you don't want to, then don't leave your house. That's your only choice. |
Why do you think that most likely they are all asymptomatic? This is pure speculation. You want so badly for this not to be a big deal. 20 cases IS a big deal. Major outbreak. Stop your denial. |
|
If they had 20 cases in a classroom or grade, pretty sure they would go to virtual for a week to get it under control. Will they pause football for a week? |
Get a grip. 20 cases over 7 days in a school of 2500+ kids, not to mention employee, is NOT an outbreak much less a major one. In one classroom in a few days, yes that would be an outbreak. But sorry to burst your bubble, 20 is not an outbreak. |
