Haha, OMG. |
Then tell me, oh wise one, where is this utopia with a smashing per-capita GDP and high birth rate? |
Cory Booker wants to add a provision in the reconciliation bill that would give $2,000 a year to each child from birth to age 18. That’s on top of the monthly child tax credits, and the proposed $600 a month stimulus checks for each child.

Exactly! Most teachers I know would quit. I know I would. |
Are you sure this isn't something from the Babylon Bee? this is absurd
|
+1 I am a teacher and I like my job but either I would quit or my DH would quit his job and we’d have another kid. We would save on daycare and get all this extra cash. I’m not going to leave that on the table! And both of our jobs are easy to get back into once the kids are in school. |
Democrats are falling over themselves to give free money to people, whether it be monthly stimulus checks, child tax credits, student loan forgiveness, rent forgiveness, etc. |
Let's tally up all the freebies the Democrats want to dole out to the public...... -Guaranteed income -Free housing (for the time being... forget the landlords0 -Free utilities (Rashida Tlaib) -Free college and college debt forgiveness -Monthly child care payments -"Free" healthcare -Free preschool -Government funded long term care for seniors and disabled I may have missed a few.... Now, we know these really aren't "free." And, this is in addition to all the other government benefits currently in place. And, they insist they don't support an agenda of Socialism. |
And, extended unemployment and more stimulus payments...... |
Don’t forget, progressives want to include a provision for free school lunches in the reconciliation bill. If it passes, every K-12 student in America will get a free lunch every school day.

Better than the U.K. mess were kids were starving because Boris refused to feed them while they were out of in-person school. |
It's not the government's job to feed your kids. |
I'd rather kids get meals at school paid for by the government than parents get endless $2,000 checks to spend on speedboats direct into their own accounts. One is a need, the other is just an invitation for grift. |
At this rate, Democrats will give kids free lunches and endless $2,000 checks to their parents. |
No. They're just doing what they can while they can. This GI bill (lol) has no chance of even coming up for debate. But a child tax credit and free school lunches? That has stamina. Small victories leading into the 2022 midterms but nothing so contentious like what ACA was. I hope we can get M4A or an extended ACA as a 'small victory' as well. |
