Don’t forget, progressives want to include a provision for free school lunches in the reconciliation bill. If it passes, every K-12 student in America will get a free lunch every school day. https://www.politico.com/news/2021/07/13/democrats-go-big-bill-499425
Better than the U.K. mess were kids were starving because Boris refused to feed them while they were out of in-person school.
It's not the government's job to feed your kids.
I'd rather kids get meals at school paid for by the government than parents get endless $2,000 checks to spend on speedboats direct into their own accounts. One is a need, the other is just an invitation for grift.
At this rate, Democrats will give kids free lunches and endless $2,000 checks to their parents.
No. They're just doing what they can while they can. This GI bill (lol) has no chance of even coming up for debate. But a child tax credit and free school lunches? That has stamina. Small victories leading into the 2022 midterms but nothing so contentious like what ACA was. I hope we can get M4A or an extended ACA as a 'small victory' as well.
