GuHetero women should stay out of gay spaces?

I just don't get how bachelorette parties are the problem. Why can't they make rules only men are allowed in? End of story

Are gay men allowed in all female clubs?

+1 million. I was always pissed when a bachelorette party would come through my favorite dive bar. It would be even more obnoxious at a gay bar.

It’s akin to having the cruise ship pull up and disgorge thousands of grotesque tourists on a pretty Caribbean beach.

I've always thought bachelor parties at drag bars are the equivalent of designating "my gays" to friends who happen to be gay. It's degrading and exploitative. So I sort of agree with the OP tweet.

Are there all female clubs?

And if there are, I would guess gay men are not. I mean, they're gay men... not women.

As long as they don’t act like they are zoo animals to observe and make fun of.

Women don’t get a free pass to be dicks. I’m a straight woman, fwiw. These women go to gay bars because they are like “omg—the gays throw the BeST parties. They are just SO MUCH fun”. They are fetisizhing gay guys. It’s icky and rude.

Ok so let's make a rule forbidding it. Or maybe just accept that you won't like every single thing every other person in the world ever does

Not make a rule but why can’t people express what is rude/unacceptable so bachelorette parties know it’s rude. If they decide they don’t care if it’s rude then they will not be made to feel welcome and no big deal because “you won’t like every single thing every other person in the world does”.

The problem is bachelorette parties. What is sacrosanct about the gay clubs?

If it’s their regular destination in the weekend, nothing. If it’s to act like they are in a freak show and laughing at it, that’s a problem.

Why can't we all sing kumbaya

+1. Why are people here assuming one can determine gender based on appearance?

Trans women utilize female restrooms because the trans woman identify as women (no commentary offered in whether they are or aren’t; it’s besides the point in this case).

Bachelorette parties don’t go to gay bars because they identify as gay.

Think about that for a moment. So, why do they go?

They go because they want to dance and have fun at a place where the men won't bother them, touch them, harass them, etc. They can just dance together without unwanted male attention. Imagine that.

Okay, but then they subject gay men to unwanted female attention and sloppy behavior. That's not better!

No they don’t. They are there for the music and their friends. Why would women pay attention to gay men any more than gay men pay attention to the women? They would be ay a straight bar if that’s what they wanted.

You clearly have not seen this spectacle

I know you think you are doing some sort of woke jujitsu here, but you're not. The issue is not that they are presenting as female. The issue is that bachelorette parties at gay bars are obnoxious AF. A bunch of sloppy drunk suburban women with penis tiaras who want to dominate the scene and expect to be treated specially. It's gross.

You keep calling them women, but how do you know how they identify? It’s time to take gender identity seriously and stop assuming gender based on looks. These could be nonbinary people or trans men having a good time. Although if they are women having a good time, I see nothing wrong with that. Anyone who has a problem with loud fun can stay home.

+10000 Drunk straight women in large packs at gay bars are straight up awful. They completely change the tenor of the evening for the queer patrons, and it sucks.

The difference between that and a trans woman using a bathroom is that the trans woman is actually there to go to the bathroom, and her presence has zero impact on my ability to do so.

This. They are there for the memes. It’s insulting as a concept.
