I will feel so much shame and guilt! I am going to double mask for the next few years, or maybe it is just a new normal and we should always wear masks and become a society that cares about each other. People are so selfish. It makes me sick

You cannot be serious!!!!

This is a wildly irrational and anti-scientific way to think.

Right? I wonder what the endpoint is for these people if it isn’t effective vaccination that prevents serious illness and hospitalization. You’re really going to hide forever from a cold?

We just need to transform as a society who actually cares about other people. We should all wear masks indoors and maybe outdoors too (just to be safe). It will prevent us getting colds, flu and covid. We need to work from home at least 3 days per week to minimize the risks. Children should wear masks at all times because they spread germs. We can do it! But we are all very very selfish. It is all about Me me me.

My thoughts are if it is that transmissible then yes I will take my chances. Because if it evades vaccines then what is the end game? Stay inside for a few more years?

BTW -- newest info on Delta is that if it breaks thru the vax it is not like the other versions where it's a mild illness. If it breaks thru, the risk of hospitalization etc. is the same as it is for unvaccinated people. Per the UK where hospitalizations are up despite vax being up (though they're using a different vax).

I’m about as concerned of catching covid as I am / always have been about catching a cold or flu. I take necessary precautions like washing my hands and getting a flu shot yearly and eating healthy and taking vitamins staying away from sneezing coughing people. But otherwise I love my life like I have been for 50 years.

You are the one who is all me me me. You want everyone to bend to your irrational anxiety despite all scientific evidence showing vaccines are effective.

The elderly are vaccinated. Small kids are at very low risk of getting sick from Covid.

Do you drive? You are much more likely to injure someone in a car accident than to harm a vaccinated person or a young child by giving them Covid. Are drivers selfish?

Before you start mocking people maybe look at the new data. For the other variants yes -- it prevented serious illness and hospitalization. For Delta it's different. If it doesn't break thru the vax you're fine. If it breaks thru you are at just as much risk for serious illness/hospital as if you weren't vaccinated. Look at the latest UK data.

So yeah you should want to NOT be exposed to this one.

If I lived in a Red state 100%.

Since Delta is more infectious and a larger unknown, perhaps triple masking.

Look it up - I'm not your junior associate. Hint - do searches for UK hospitalizations and see what comes up from the last few days.
