There are no risks if you’re vaccinated

To answer your question, op- I’ll never wear a mask again

NP. The bold is pure fantasy. The vaccine is a miracle but NOT perfect. It prevents serious illness and hospitalizations but does not mean "you'll never get the virus." One can have the virus asymptomatically after being vaccinated and studies are still under way on whether vaccinated people are able to transmit the virus to others and if so, how serious it is. You are incredibly ignorant.

To OP, I am vaxxed and still avoid crowds outside and do indoor shopping etc. only as I truly need to. Not nearly as isolated as last year but yes, I'm cautious and I do mask indoors but not double masks. You are right, though, to take Delta seriously. We have relatives abroad in a country where they were believing they had the pandemic licked and now Delta is causing positive cases to soar again (the UK--where they were bragging about ending their so-called lame "Lockdown" tomorrow yet it was just extended another month due to Delta plus people not vaccinating plus people acting like there was no lockdown....

I can know I'm vaccinated but I can't know if the unmasked person near me is vaccinated or not. We are using a pinky-swear honor system saying "unvaccinated folks please wear a mask." We all know that there are going to be unvaxxed people out there unmasked and going around as if there's never been a pandemic at all. They're the ones who will end up spreading Delta. While my vaccination likely protects me pretty well against Delta, I don't mind masking, so I'm going out more but still going to mask. Singles only but mine have a changeable filter inside.

I mean… most of us don’t care if we have asymptomatic covid.

This world (or at least this part of the country) has become so ridiculous over this. I’m either going to risk it and ditch the mask as much as possible. Or move.

I never double masked. Not once throughout the whole pandemic.

Do they have a higher case rate and death rate than Maryland. They must if they are acting so recklessly.......

uh, yeah, that's the entire point. if it doesn't make me sick, and i don't even know i have it, who the eff cares? wasn't the whole point of the shutdowns, masking, etc. to FLATTEN THE CURVE!!!!! to prevent hospital overloads? NOT to prevent anyone ever from getting covid.

We continue to mask but double masks are silly. Just wear a properly fitting mask with a non-woven lining.

You sound like a very uncaring person.

Lots of vax lemmings here denying facts and assuming too much imo

Ie those who think a vax is a guarantee… far from it in this case, moreso with likely future variants that wider vaccinations could help shut down.

I don't understand this at all. In Northern VA (inside the beltway), I'd say 50% are unmasked in stores.

So many people who really want this to get worse and not better. Some people thrive on doom and gloom I guess.

Was just in and around friendship heights and Bethesda area. Masks on couples walking alone on the sidewalk. Masks in stores everywhere. I’d say the percentage indoors and out is 80%. It’s the outdoor maskers that bewilder me. This isn’t Manhattan with crowded sidewalks.

Right? I wonder what the endpoint is for these people if it isn’t effective vaccination that prevents serious illness and hospitalization. You’re really going to hide forever from a cold?

We should ALL wear masks. I cannot believe you are NOT afraid of catching covid. How would you feel if you get it and pass it to your elderly relatives or kids? I will feel so much shame and guilt! I am going to double mask for the next few years, or maybe it is just a new normal and we should always wear masks and become a society that cares about each other. People are so selfish. It makes me sick
