| My colleague was shot and killed commuting home from work. I think people should certainly be able to choose not to live in the city because they would rather live somewhere safe. I hope people don’t disregard the gun violence in the city right now. |
You're more likely to be killed in a car wreck in the burbs than by a gun in DC. |
| Ok... |
Right. But apparently the PP does not want them questioned, challenged or prevented. We all just need to move every time there is a shooting |
| Oh come on. When gun violence is an issue, you are allowed to acknowledge it. People want to tell themselves that they live in a nice neighborhood regardless of the reality happening around them. I live in a neighborhood where houses are selling for $1 million and there are shootings often. I cannot wait to move out of the city. |
Racist readers? What bizarro world do you live in? Dan Popville bans anyone who strays right of far left. |
| Anymore information? |
Latest update is that Dan Popville cultivates a far left readership that is not certainly not racist. Other than that? No, nothing. |
Is this what they mean by “urban vibrancy”? |
John Eaton School was a super cute little school with its own playground and the neighbors feared it would be replaced with a big box type square charmless building with no green space or playground. |
Yeah this made me laugh. he doesn't even allow comments on stories about crime! |
Was he the young social worker randomly shot around Bladensburg Rd? Such a sad story. |
They are kind of supersizing the school beyond projected local needs, and replacing one of the historic wings with a charmless box building. Unfortunately there will be no green space (unless a little astroturf counts) and a smaller playground than before. |
The historic buildings circa 1911 are preserved. The multipurpose room and library structure, in the center of the school and built later, are being replaced. |
| Another "School Shooting" for the statistics books. |
