Fake news. I totally don't believe this.

*leaves house for coffee*
*doesn't even realize they need gas*

Right, I mean she drove to get coffee.
And topped the tank.
What the actual F***?

"As of 7 a.m. ET, 24.8% of all gas stations in North Carolina, 15.4% in Georgia and 15% in Virginia are without gasoline, according to GasBuddy, an app that tracks fuel demand, prices and outages."

I'm far from convinced the shutdown was caused by a "rogue group of hackers". It's a nice story but the takedown of the economy is deliberate, and I suspect this is part of it.

I'm more worried about games being canceled due to the CPI rising 4.2% this year. Hard to pay the bills.

Huge cans?

This made me literally laugh out loud!

+1 I love thinking about moms with huge cans.

Well, what can I say? Happy coincidence, that's what I say.

Well, unfortunately, if you drove your kids to school this morning, as I did, and your indicator was on empty, as mine was, and you found that your usual station was completely out of gas and the one nearby had long lines, you might feel differently. Or should I demand that my kids spend the night at school to avoid driving up the gas prices?

Percentage of gas stations closed with no gas by state:
GA 15.4%
AL 1.8%
TN 2.8%
SC 13.4%
NC 24.8%
FL 4.2%
VA 15.0%
MD 3.5%

Panic buying only happens in NC, VA, GA, and SC.

I stopped to get coffee this morning and wasn't going to bother since I was at 1/4 a tank which is enough to get to work. I planned to stop and fill up after work. But the station was running out and only had ultimate left. People will filling huge containers. So I filled up. Then as I continued driving to work all of the gas stations had huge lines.

Funny that there's a thread on this already ... my wife just returned home after driving around looking for gas ... 6 stations all empty ...

We have ballet and soccer events to attend for the kids this weekend ... fingers crossed we can refuel somewhere.

This is insane.
