Gas purchases are up 40% in parts of VA and NC. The shortages are only based on people freaking out not the pipeline issue. The good news is, unlike TP, there is only so much gas people can hoard.

There will likely be a run on gas stations in the next 48 hours. It’s already started further south and some NoVa stations are saying they’ll be ok, unless there is a run, which pretty much guarantees there will be a run.

I imagine people who never could have automobiles would be flabbergasted by those who don’t want to use them. But to each his own. I like seeing the world beyond my few square miles and always will. If having a plug in car makes that easier on everybody else, I will do that too. Just not yet.
