To the same poster that provided this link dated back in 2005. I have read it. I can't find what the endowment of STA is? Can you provide this information? Thanks.

I think you're either being paranoid or else intentionally trying to stir up conflict. I just went to each school's website, typed in "endowment" in the search box, and found plenty of info. I suspect a simple Google or Bing search would yield further info.

Maret: http://www.maret.org/support_maret/endowment/index.aspx
NCS: http://www.ncs.cathedral.org/podium/default.aspx?t=204&nid=669395&bl=back&rc=0
SFS: http://www.sidwell.edu/documents/zartman/campaignNewsletter.pdf
StA: http://www.stalbansschool.org/page.aspx?pid=660

Poster: it is you that is paranoid. People are asking for specific information. You do a search and copy and paste garbage that you have not even read that does not provide the information posters are asking for: What is the present endowment of STA and Sidwell?

Under this subterfuge you dare call another paranoid or trying to stirr things up.

Why are you so fearful or threatened by accurate data and information?

If you are not interested in this fine. Shu up and don't serve up garbage and an accusatory finger.

STA January 2011 $50 million

In view of the tendency of hyperbole on this board do you have a reference, source or link?

NCS is 22 million dollars. You number is twice that of STA? Do you believe this? What's your explanation for STA having over twice the endowment of NCS?

Would you be shocked if Radcliffe's endowment was substantially less than Harvard's? I wouldn't. Historically, many people poured a lot more money into schools that educated their sons than the did into schools that educated their daughters.

The historically changing relationships between Harvard and Radcliffe are much different than that relationship between Beauvoir, STA and NCS in the Episcopal diocese.

Yes, but isn't endowment primarily a function of private donations? Or does the diocese control it (i.e. turn away or redirect funds to keep things equal)?

Why is it very easy to find the endowment numbers with links and a data source for Harvard, Yale and Princeton; Andover, Exeter and Groton; Collegiate, Brearley, Chapin, but not STA, Sidwell, NCS, GDS and Maret?

Is this information buried or suppressed to allow the preferred exaggerated hype over these institutions in our community?

Just curious. If anyone can provide a link to information about the endowments and or endowment/pupil of any of the D.C. area private schools ("elite and/or no elite"; "Big 3 or Little 3")?

So far, from the posts with links/data the endowments of GDS are $10 million and NCS, $22 million.
? Sidwell
? STA
? Maret
? Landon

Someone has posited:

The dwindling coffers of the Catholic diocese and enrollments at Catholic Schools across the nation are well reported and known.

What is the status of the Episcopal diocese of Washington, D.C. (and nationally)? What's the impact on the financial bottomline at STA and NCS?

Does the Episcopal diocese contribute to the annual operating budgets or STA and NCS and/or their endowments?

Not sure I understand your question or point.

What is considered a private donation to the endowment pot at a private independent school like STA?

What is not considered a private donation to the endowment pot at a private independent school like STA?

If you go to the site prepreview.com and click on "compare schools" you can select up to four schools and see their financial data, including endowment figures. No idea how up to date this info is, however.

The Prep Review site is what I've used in the past to post numbers including endowment/pupil. I agree with you about when these were collected: pre- or post- financial crash. If pre- crash a downward 15 to 20 percent adjustment across the board will do.

How do we compare to our peer schools?
Maret’s current endowment is $12.7 million. The average of our local peer schools is $22 million. Several schools in the area have endowments approaching $50 million.

...

Can the PP who provided this link tell us what Maret's endowment is from the information provided?

About halfway down the piece you quoted. Does that help?
